Third person POVIt's been another day that Y/N hasn't woken up and the gang was getting worried. Afraid something else was going on with the woman, but they couldn't take her into town due to the law being up her ass.
John hadn't done anything since yesterday. He just sat there with Y/N, desperately waiting for her to wake up. Hosea has tried persuading him to rest and get something to eat but John refused. All he could think about was the mistake he made by letting Y/N go so easily, and letting someone hurt her so bad.
As for Arthur, he refused to get out of his room. He wasn't sure what to do about the situation. All he wanted was to take back what he said to her days before this. He wanted to take it all back, but how?
"John, I can sit with Miss L/N. Why don't you get some food." Miss Grimshaw said, as she walked into the tent, looking at John to see the bags under his eyes.
"No, I'll be fine here." He glanced over at Y/N. She was completely covered by the blanket. Her hair spread over the pillow her head was resting on. He couldn't help but smile at her, despite the state she was in.
Miss Grimshaw sighed, a frown forming on her face. "If you say so, Mr. Marston." She lifted the flap of
Y/N's and walked out, shaking her head to the other campers, failing to get John to eat, or at least take a bath.Dutch tried checking on Arthur a couple times, but every time he knocked, there was no answer. Arthur recently started going into coughing fits. He would cough up blood but every time someone asked him what was going on he just said he was fine and went back to his room in the two story house in Shady Belle.
Another day passed and Y/N still hasn't waken up. John was beginning to get more and more worried, how could she have been in this state for too long from a stab wound?
"Maybe I'm just overthinking it." John dragged his hand down his face and settled back in the chair. And for the first time in two days, he slept.
John felt a weak nudge on his shoulder, he shot up to see Y/N awake.
"Hey, Marston." Y/N formed a weak smile on her face as color returned to her cheeks.
"Y/N, you're.. You're awake!" John wrapped his arms around Y/N carefully, making sure to not cause pain to her.
"Yeah, obviously." Y/N jokingly teased John and broke the hug. "How long have I been sleeping, a year?" Y/N chuckled.
"No, just two days." John responded to her.
Without warning, Y/N grabbed Johns face and intensely scanned his face. He felt his cheeks heat up and hoped Y/N didn't notice it.
"Why the hell do you look like you haven't slept at all?" She let go of his face and used her lower arm to stance herself on the cot.
"Well, I uh-" John was disrupted by Abigail bursting in and running to hug Y/N, seeing that she was awake.
Y/N's POV
I winced from pain as Abigail ran to me, hugging me as tight as possible. She stepped back with a smile on her face.
"Your finally awake! We was getting worried!" Abigail nudged Johns shoulder.
"I can see that." I glanced at John, than turned to smile at Abigail.
The rest of the camp ran in and greeted me, happy to see I was alive and well. John stayed by me as everyone walked in. Once Dutch walked in, it was just me, John, and Dutch in my tent. He grabbed another chair and sat down.
"I'm glad to see you awake, Y/N." Dutch pulled out a cigar and a match. He lit the match with his boot and raised the cigar to his mouth. He lit the cigar and took a puff of it. "John here has been worried sick about you, in fact he never left your side."
