64. GOING HOME *

Once we all were on the plane my mom told the pilot to head to Mcallen International Airport so we could drop off Juanita. When he radioed in his flight plan they told him it would be better if he flew into Mcleary Airport since it was better equipped to handle small planes and we wouldn't have to deal with the big airliners and crowds. So that is what we did and had Juanita inform her family that she was heading home and where to meet her. I could not believe that out of this whole mess something good was going to come to life. The best thing was that Juanita was only fifteen and had been missing for only three years so she was still a virgin. I found out from Rebecca that we got to her just in time since her birthday is on Monday and she was going to be married to the son of the leader from New York. They wanted her as far away from Louisiana without leaving the country. Even though Noah hated it Rebecca and I sat in the back talking and she admitted she wasn't ready to see her parents. I smiled at her and told her we could wait until she was ready even if it meant I couldn't surprise them with her for Thanksgiving.

She shook her head "No Elle I just need a few days to unwind. I can't wait to have Thanksgiving dinner with my parents. I have dreamed of this day for ten years. I held on to the hope they would find me every day." I smiled "I am glad. Noah jumped up "that is it." He came running over "you know how you said that you are not sure Mrs. Lawson would show up until it is confirmed that Rebecca has been found." "Yeah, and I am trying to figure out how to get her to the field." "Easy, tell her the team has a surprise for Coach Lawson. You can tell her that since this is your last season you want to give him a special gift especially since he helped protect you from Mr. Blaine." I looked at Noah and jumped up wrapping my arms around him "it is perfect. This is why I love you so much. Here I was more concerned with getting to know Rebecca and thought you were pouting since you leave tomorrow and you were sitting there figuring out a way to help Rebecca be reunited with both her parents at the same time." "You know I would do anything for you Shelly baby."

Once we landed in L.A. we were slowly approached by my family. Rebecca looks at me "why are they moving so slow." I giggle "they don't want to scare you." "Oh, that is very considerate of them." We introduced Rebecca to the family and Brad smiled at her "so, are you hungry?" She smiled yes please." Lee snorts "where do you want to eat?" She hung her head "whatever is fine sir." Lee gasps "do not call me sir, please. Besides you are not with those assholes anymore you have a right to have an opinion. Believe me, I am used to it seeing as Shelly is my bestie." She looks at me "you are right Elle he is funny. OK, Elle's twin I would like...Korean." Lee groaned as I danced around singing "yes yes yes." Noah chuckled "oh, little bro looks like your twin finally has someone that loves Asian food as much as she does." Rebecca laughed and since she got used to Noah on the plane looked at him "Yep, and Diner food. Dang, I love some good diner food."

Lee looked at her "yes, we can go to our fave diner tomorrow. You might see Officer Dawson there since he is married to our favorite waitress's daughter." I snort "I learned something on the plane ride here twin." "What is that?" "Not only is Martha a waitress there she owns the diner." "No, way." "Yep, that is why sometimes she doesn't charge us." "That little devil." I started laughing as we made our way to the car "so, you finally learned not to call her old." "Yeah, I hated that month she wouldn't let me have dessert but would give you yours covered in whip cream." Charlie laughed "ok, you kids see you later." My mom laughed "hold up Charlie. Why don't you have Martha, and Lilly joins us for dinner our treat." He looked around "you ok with more people Rebecca." "Yep, to be honest I was lucky. Dominique wasn't as mean as his father or the other men. Granted he still believed that a woman was supposed to please a man but he never hit me." "Really so you weren't hit." "Oh, no I was the first two years but about that time Dominique decided he wanted me so I moved in with him and his father and he started grooming me to be his wife. He swore as long as I did what he asked in front of his father or what his father asked I wouldn't be hit. When I didn't obey when his father wasn't around Dom would simply cut off my allowance."
