Eating at the dinner was fun. Especially since Peter and his brother had never seen me eat and I thought their eyes were going to bug out when I finished my usual triple cheeseburger, a large order of fries with gravy, a large strawberry shake, large diet coke, and my strawberry cheesecake. He glanced at Noah and all he did was chuckle "yep, my girl loves her food." Once we were all done Carl took Peter and his brother home while we all headed home. I had convinced the Swan girls to spend the night before picking them up so they had their bags and were getting ready at my house. Noah wasn't thrilled since not only were the Swan girls spending the night with me but so were Lois and Patrice. Yep, we were going to make it a girl's night even my cousin Kat was going to be staying with me.
We pulled out the dresses my mom bought us and it wasn't long before we were all doing our hair and make-up. I couldn't help but smirk "damn ladies we all look hot. Our men are going to go Craaaaaazy." Margot shook her head "yeah, you all have your men but I don't." I giggle Yeah right Justin seems to like you." "Nope, I don't want to start a long-distance relationship." "Why not?" "Because they never work." Everyone looks around and I notice LaraJean look down hanging her head. "What's wrong LJ?" "Our mom said to never go away to college with a boyfriend. Well at least that is what Margot told us." I look at Margot "did she give you a reason." "Yeah because long-distance relationships don't work." "I have been trying to explain to LJ that she should break up with Peter soon since they will more than likely go to different colleges." I shake my head "LJ long-distance does work especially if you work at them. You have to make time to call each other and face time."
Margot stares at me "don't encourage her when you don't know what you're talking about." Lois, Patrice, and Kat all start shaking their heads as Lois looks directly at Margot "what school do you think Noah attends?" "UCLA." They all start laughing and shaking their heads having the Swan girls stare at them. I clear my throat "Noah attends Harvard University in Boston. He is only here on break."
She looks at me "really?" "Yep, how do you think he knows Justin? I know Justin told you that he was Noah's roommate and that he attended Harvard." "I guess I didn't pay that much attention and now that I think about it the day we met you didn't you tell us then that Noah attended Harvard." I nod my head "yep. Noah and I have had some bumps in the road but we trust each other and work hard at making sure we are available to each other when we are not in school." "What do you mean?" "Simple unless he is in a class or I am in class we always answer our phones when the other one calls." "Even at the dinner table." I nod "yep, but I tell him he is on speaker since that is the rule at the dinner table concerning phones. Normally I will text him that we are sitting down to eat." "Why text him?" Patrice chuckles "so, he knows if he calls she has to put him on speaker and if it is something private to call later."
She nods her head and looks at LJ "I am sorry I have been trying to force you to break up with Peter." I look at Margot and LJ "believe me it is hard I miss Noah every day and have to constantly remind myself that I love him and he loves me and we are worth the effort. Especially with all that we have been through." LJ looks at me "so, you wouldn't break up with him." I look around at the girls "LJ I wouldn't do it but I have been in love with Noah for as long as I can remember and vice versa. We both know and knew when he left that we were it for each other. We both knew that our goal with each other was marriage and eventually a family. If you do not see that with Peter then no you two shouldn't stay together." She looks around "I do see myself married to Peter. He has mentioned us getting married eventually." I smile "then no matter where you two go to school stay together and fight for your relationship." Margot looks at me "is that a hint Elle?" "No, Margot it is not a hint. I am not telling you to start something with Justin because you are a different person. What I am saying is that not all long-distance relationships fail. Now don't get me wrong I also know not all of them are successful. I guess what I really am saying is being together worth the work and the knowledge it might not work."
