Episode Eighteen 🌸

It was raining outside yet Xyraen enjoyed watching every raindrop through her window. She wanted to go outside and enjoy the rain but Anya didn't let her. She's still wounded but through the help of the Imperial Healer she is fast recovering.

It's been four days since she last saw the Prince yet she can still feel that he's been taking care of her through giving her gifts and sending the Imperial Healer. He also sent two days ago one of the Imperial Cook to make her food for one day. He might not be physically present but she can still feel his care for her.

It was so sudden that the Prince needed to go to the neighboring county as ordered by the Emperor four days ago. Rinyue needs to fix something in there and might take him a few weeks before he comes home. Nevertheless, both their families are still preparing for their upcoming wedding.

Xyraen smiled sheepishly as she heard a knock at her door.

"Come in" she casually said while still watching the rain outside. The person outside her room opened the door revealing Anya with a middle aged woman that's wearing a white hanfu and a white half mask covering the lower part of her face. Her hair was made into a bun and there are two gold pins inserted in it. She is holding a white bag and a manual in her hand.

"Young lady, she's here." Anya announced.

Xyraen's eyes sparkled at the excitement she's feeling. She turned away from the window and finally, faced Anya and the woman she's been expecting.

The woman instantly bowed her head slightly.

"Greetings, your highness Princess Ying Yue."

Xyraen giggled then hurriedly went to the woman to greet her.

"Lady Xue, please stop with the formalities!"

She looked at Anya that's been curiously looking at her since she asked her to get the woman from her home.

"Anya, please prepare a snack or tea for Lady Xue" Anya startled a little bit but instantly obeyed Xyraen.

Now, Lady Xue and Xyraen are left alone.

The woman sharply looked at Xyraen completely an opposite expression she had when Anya was around. While, Xyraen just shrugged her shoulders lightly.

"Come let's talk inside...

Aunt Xue."

The woman just scowled at her but still followed her inside the room.

Lady Xue is the younger half sister of her Mother. As Xyraen complained on how she can't continue practicing her swords skill for a couple of weeks because of her wound she accidentally remembered this Aunt of her. Lady Xue and her mother was never been in good terms since they were kids. Her mother thinks that Lady Xue will snatch their father's favor from her so she did all schemes just to make their father hates Lady Xue.

Lady Xue suffered a lot of discrimination and hate from the people around her. Her mother abandoned her right after she turned three years old. Her step mother and step sister never liked or cared about her. Though she was loved by her father it was instantly buried deep in his heart when Xi Liangyi- Xyraen's mother schemed Lady Xue. She was known for her bad reputation that was caused by her step sister yet no one knew about it.
