The fact that I roasted my neighbor didn't improve my position. I still couldn't attend any parties. So I decided to plan Ryan a party and asked Ahana to lead a crowd of mere five people to his house while I spent time at Abhiraaj's house. I would ask Abhiraaj to take me to Ryan's house if possible.

'Riya, you just wait here, I'll get the bike from my friend.' Ayum said as he crossed the road. One of his friends parked his racer on the footpath and left hurriedly. We were walking to Ryan's house and Ayum decided to keep his bicycle at home and then come. It was four-thirty in the evening and Ryan had gotten his surprise already. They were waiting for us to cut the cake.

But then the most horrible thing happened.

As Ayum was crossing the road on his bicycle, a mad biker zoomed in at light speed towards him from the side. Ayum managed to not collapse with him and fly off (oh god), but the bike anyway hit Ayum and he landed beneath his cycle, in the middle of the road. He partially fainted.

I had no idea what to do. My entire body froze. The shock hit me so hard that I would have simply fallen down if it were physical. I burst into tears as I ran towards him. I gave a long, painful howl. 'Ayum!' I somehow managed to lift the racer. A passer-by helped me. It was a running road so he helped us get to the footpath. Ayum was still unconscious. I sat down on the footpath, cross-legged, and put his head on my lap and wrapped my hand around him. And then I just wailed, taking his name.

I couldn't afford to lose the guy. Even though I had decided to move on. Even though I tried to convince myself he was a nobody except a family friend, I still couldn't control my tears and the sinking feeling of losing him forever. 'Wake up Ayum, come on.' I cried and I gently stroked his head.

'Won't die so early and so disgracefully.' He coughed suddenly.

I was relieved that he was okay, and also couldn't help but smirk.

He had to keep his magnetism alive even when he was lying on the footpath of Mumbai city, waiting for an ambulance to arrive and help him get back on his feet.

Thankfully Ayum was okay. He wasn't hurt much and would be cured perfectly. Bela aunty convinced my mom to let me go and pay Ryan a visit. I protested a bit, but she insisted and even mom agreed, so I went on.

I also needed my best friend. I was hurt.
