The black waters crashed on the giant plateau from all sides; it stood sturdily between the water. A giant, black snake coiled itself in the highest tip of the plateau, which wasn't exactly a plateau, but rather an uneven piece of land. It was so big that its slimy movement was clearly visible from far away. A figure which wore a red cloak with uneven stitches flew around the plateau. I don't know where I stood but I felt my own breath. In a split-second, the snake opened it's mouth wide and struck its fangs right where my face would be.
I screamed and woke with a jerk.
Another nightmare. Why were my dreams so scenic man? Why did they feel so ultra-real?
I looked at the time. It was eleven in the morning.
Despite all the consolation I gave myself, I was unable to face Ryan at all. I needed someone to talk to so badly then, but I had no one I could talk to. Ahana had moved on with all our other friends, and I didn't want to bother her anymore. I wouldn't be able to commit to our relationship. I couldn't tell Prateek, Ayum was a close companion of his. I returned back to Etis. Thankfully it was a Sunday and by God's grace, Ryan had gone out with his family for a meal at Sharma's. They had asked me, but I preferred to leave the family alone. Mrs. Roy, whose name was Isha, loved my decision.
I had some space.
'Hi Riya I know today will be such a lonely day for you, but we're sorry. Mat and I have a very important meeting with the Ministry of Environmental Affairs in Pentatox, you know we're working on this thing? Will see you later and please binge-watch alone for today. Bye!'
I was really happy. I was not exactly dipped in guilt, but I did have a sinking feeling, and I wanted to curl up alone. Ayum did something to me which caused more harm than the good. But there was good.
I lazily made myself some tomato soup and switched on the latest movie I could find. Such a cool day to distract myself from whatever was happening in my life by focusing on the hero's problems.
After I successfully reached the evening of my very unproductive Sunday, I decided to get up and finally do something which was much more meaningful. Ryan informed he'd arrive a little later, and hence I decided to visit Varya, who had recently added me on Telegram.
It's an app and the only social media that worked in Etis. It had the name of an Earth brand, but it had features that made it almost everything ranging from Instagram to Whatsapp of Etis.
As I entered the Castle of the Water Realm, I couldn't help but wonder how beautifully designed it was.
I had a Disney feel.
