'She said that?' Ryan laughed, as he prepared a Doiye for me. I sipped onto it. I was about to leave for the Central library, but I had an hour left, so I decided to visit Ryan. Mat and Aspen were doing some Environmental Club stuff and were sitting with us.

So you know the Beguiling Islands?' Aspen asked grimly.

'Um not exac--

'One day.' Mat snapped and rushed out.

Okay, this was getting terribly weird. What was this Beguiling Island? And why was Aspen so worried?

'Just think it is a bad force here.' Ryan assured. 'Deisy ma'am would obviously elaborate on it.'

I decided to listen to Ryan. I mean it might be something confidential, which they aren't ready to tell me yet. It hurt but, it is what it is.

I left for the Central Library. Actually, Ryan's mom was the librarian there, so it was much easier to get along. She loved me very much because I had kind of brought her family together.

'You are such a lifesaver Riya. Both the men in my house are finally home, all thanks to you.' She narrated every other day. 'It's so nice you two volunteer here, it feels really great.'

I just smiled back most of the time. The library was huge and had almost a collection of 50,000 books in hardcover and maybe millions of eBooks. Generally, every book was a sort of fiction for the Etilets because they were greatly brought from Earth (one of the jobs Shalecs did was approve which book should be there). The library was a back-breaking work because people in Etis paid a lot of attention to reading. Even folks from the Air realm and the Water realm came for books because it was literally the only library in Etis.

It was a great opportunity for me to read new books every day. Also, some really important but unofficial meetings were held in the library, so it was sort of a busy but big place.

'Riya, Cecila is here with someone. Would you please take them to the farthermost table?' Mrs. Roy asked. I did what she said. Cecila was there with Savannah, and they whispered away.

'You are you are.' Cecila insisted.

'Maybe but I don't care.' Savannah said sharply.

Cecila seemed severely tensed and in between overwhelmed. This Savannah girl was weird. So was Cecila. It was later Ryan's mom told me what was actually happening.

'Cecila is a really passionate woman. She likes to get everything right. This girl Savannah? She was brought in by Cecila's boyfriend so she must be expecting something out of her. Also, there are some secrets to Etis but I am sure Deisy would clear them out to you. I don't want this to be unprofessional, really.' She spoke. 'Savannah was a really bright student at University College London, but she agreed on coming here with her brother, she was adopted by Cecila's in-laws.'

I was really curious now, I mean, was it related to the Fallen Queen thing? The thing Aspen's mother told us when we visited the village?

I concentrated on stacking hardcover and paperback books separately, primarily because me just assuming and thinking would not really work out, I would have to do something about it. I decided to try roaming about alone. But I also did not feel like invading Etis's privacy. What if I was too wrong?

But then I'm officially a citizen here, so I do have the right to know everything. (Yes, I got myself registered at Pentatox, I have a citizenship card which is black in color. It's white for the Air Realm and Blue for the Water.)

After finishing my shift of more than three hours at the library, I headed back to the school. I had to start my shift at Moonlit's from six and it was only three-thirty then. The School of Etis was open generally round to clock to its students, so I decided to head to the practical wing of the place to try and test if I was developing any powers.

Now the concept of Magic worked really awkwardly in the Enchanted Islands. While the realms and the nature spirits have clarity on what they are supposed to do, people of the Islands had no idea what they would have as their powers. Most parts of it were generally inherited, but most of them acquired too. For example, Ryan has the power of sight which he developed as an individual, and he did it naturally, without much practice. But he practiced hard to dominate his X-ray vision and actually take control of it properly. But his trait of powerful oratorship (almost too powerful) and his ability to see through emotions have been inherited from his parents.

On the other hand, I had to completely acquire magic because I had no connections with it, before coming to Etis with Ryan. They say it's possible but very hard to achieve. Generally, it takes a lot of time for humans to acquire magic but it wasn't impossible.

You need to give time to let all this sink into your body, it's not a one read's thing.

'Magic isn't extra growth of hormones in the body or DNA made of golden dust, it is all about the desire to acquire it and practicing enough to get it. Just feel yourself being able to do a certain kind of magic, and if it feels like an orgasm, excited and hyperactive whilst you try to do it and then satisfaction ease is what you feel after you even think of it, it's your type of magic.' One of our instructors said.
