The Beguiling Islands were nothing like the land I saw when I went into the Fallen Queen's story. It was now replaced with black, ashy trees, and land with cracks on it. The air smelled of burnt tar and smokey as if it were a coal barbecue. It was even difficult to breathe. Matilda led us to a big mansion. On our way, Varya and Ryan knocked down almost five people who tried to kill us with spears.

'This is where Veer, our Risen King took his last breaths, before melting into a pool of water. These ancient royalties of Etis? They never die, they're gonna live until they wish to. They can will themselves to be of any age, that's how powerful the rulers were of Etis. And the best part was, it wasn't inherited, it was gifted, by the spirits, the Universe itself. The only people to have inherited supreme powers were the Ocean Goddess and the Fallen Queen. Now, I want only Karishma to go in.' Matilda said. So, technically the Fallen Queen was sort of a goddess?

Wow.

'Can Ryan come with me?' I asked as Matilda nodded. We held our hands as tightly as possible. As we were just about to go in, Varya held us back.

'Don't go in yet, move.' She said, her eyes glowing pink. 'I smell predators.'

'She's a mermaid, half-fish. She can smell danger, and she smells birds mainly. That means Zachariah or maybe a creature like that is near, hide.' Ryan insisted as he looked around, his eyes glowing, scanning the entire surrounding. All of us had nowhere to go. I was completely panicking. We were to die. 'Let's...' He stopped. There was nowhere we could hide. As we looked around frantically, I saw Varya break down silently. I felt guilty about letting her come with us. She was better off in the water, dancing with the fish.

Water.

'Let's just dive into the ocean and stay there. He won't be able to find us out.' I quickly ran towards the seashore, which wasn't far from the place, and the others followed me. Also, the danger came from the other side, so our road to safety was safe.

While we hid in the water and waited for the incoming threats to pass away, I spotted Zachariah. He looked exactly the same as he did during the Fallen Queen's time, except his robe was now red and layered, and the diamond belt was intact. He walked with a woman who wore a blouse and a skirt, I couldn't see much of her, but I guessed she was Nathaira.

'Come on everyone.' I stood up as they were not in our eyes' reach anymore. 'I and Ryan will go now.' And then we walked into the mansion.

It was so old and dark when we looked at it from outside, but only when we entered, we saw it was heavily lighted from inside. Veer's pictures from all ages were hung there, and there was a huge portrait covered with a cloth at the end of the biggest living room I had ever seen in life. Ryan nodded as I took baby steps towards it, to reveal the photograph.

It was the Queen and Veer, where she was dressed as an ordinary woman, and Veer had his normal clothes on. They looked sharply towards the front, there was something about the picture; it spread another kind aura all-together. As I turned around and squeezed Ryan's hand, who couldn't keep his eyes off the painting, we fell off the grid again.
