'Kashi?'
I woke up with a jolt.
After I rubbed my eyes and they were ready to take in light, I saw a lot of people around me. Cecila, Savannah, Ryan, Aspen, Mat, Mr. and Mrs. Roy, Aspen's mother, Varya, Prakash Das, and the Air Realm ruler maybe, surrounded me.
'She's awake.' Ryan shouted as he caressed my forehead gently. I felt guilty about my scene with Ayum. I couldn't push past the pain that took over my chest almost immediately after he gently stroked my hair. 'How are you feel--
'You, you, where were you? What were you doing inside the Fallen Queen's castle for so long? What did you see there? Tell us. Savannah, listen to her and tell me if you feel like you've seen or heard this somewhere.' Cecila bombarded me with her restless queries.
'I don't know kind of was trying to explore an--
'Do you know that is a forbidden place? No one goes there, it's sacred or maybe cursed. What have you done.' Prakash gasped.
Cecila asked everyone to keep quiet while I spoke. 'What did you see there? Huh? Anything unusual, something that resembles Savannah?' She pulled her in front of me, and she quickly broke free of her shackles. 'Tell us Karishma.'
'So, I kind of watched Marvella's entire story, or maybe the main part of it. Enough to grasp what happened.'
'You did what?' Mrs. Roy spat tea off her mouth on the floor. Everyone was taken aback, except for Aspen and Mat's mother, she just smiled.
'What does that mean? How is that possible.' Cecila held her head with her hands.
'You sure?' Mat questioned.
'I am sure, I know what happened. But I ha--
'Now tell me, did the Fallen Queen look like Savannah? Was she resembling Savannah?' I thought Cecila was a calm and composed woman. Her recklessness scared me.
'Why is this side of Etis not shown to new people? Why is it not talked about?' Ryan gasped. 'And Karishma, how is possible? How can you?'
'I gave her the stone.' Aspen and Mat's mother sighed. Everyone got a hysteria again.
'How can yo--' The Air realm ruler started to say when Savannah just stormed out of the room.
'I'm not taking this shit, get me home!' She screamed.
'See? She's our Queen.' Cecila declared.
'The Queen wasn't this way. She... she was something else.' I blurted out. The room was in terrible havoc. I saw Prakash murmur something under his breath in a corner, Cecila was going haywire and Aspen's mother just left. I ran behind her.
'Karishma wait!' Cecila shouted behind my back. 'No one has ever done that, I want to know what happened! Maybe you're the one! Stop I said!'
'Damn it! You're only bothered about your personal interests, I don't know what you want! But what's your obsession? What shall you do if you find her, retrieve her? Nothing! Get out of my way!' I shouted back. I needed to see Deisy, this place is not as I imagined.
But how could I imagine a utopia? How? Every brain should understand that there is nothing called perfect or all good in this world. But I needed to get to the right person, the person who would unfold it to me. The truth about Etis, and what actually was going on under this high-tech, properly composed magical world.
'Are you there?' I shouted in the empty hallway. The School was deserted, and stiff. I walked into Deisy's cabin, she was nowhere to be seen. I shouted a few more times, but she wasn't there.
'Looking for me?' Her voice was dry. She looked older than usual. She was trying to tell us the entire time, but I had shoved it away, thinking it was scary.
Life is scary.
'Hi, Deisy. Can you tell me what's happening?' I said, my voice small.
'What's happening?' She asked, genuinely confused.
'I saw the Fallen Queen's story. I felt it. I was there.'
She heaved as she put her hand on her mouth. 'The Queen Stone, you have it.'
That's what its called, Queen Stone. I nodded.
'Zachariah and Nathaira, they're up to something. The Beguiling Islands? That's the land of illusions and ill-will. The Enchanted Islands are completely separated from it, that is why no one talks about it. It's not what the rest of the Etis is like. It's a very dark place, and it plays with your mind.'
'But that was a part of Etis. Marvella, I mean the Fallen Queen, she went there, she met Veer there, then how?'
'I'm afraid I would not be able to answer your questions. I mean, I don't know what happened in the actual story. I know it, but I don't know what happened after that. Etis is a very confusing place.' She gave a weak laugh. I did so too. 'So, Nathaira is a shapeshifting serpent, who's said to be the granddaughter of Zachariah's then alliance, Natha.'
'That red-eyed woman?'
Deisy nodded. 'It was only about five years ago the attacks in various other parts of Etis stopped. Before, we feared attacks every single day. Serpents, Eagles, Zachariah never stopped. He wanted to find the Fallen Queen at all costs because he is still terribly in love with her. Also, he wants to destroy her with his own hands. I know deep down, they're planning to do something really big, and it would not be good. But the others? They seem to forget that we have a past which still is haunting us. That's why they took me out of Pentatox because I suggested that we had to be ready for anything, no matter what.'
How quickly the land of sweet dreams escalated to the land of nightmares.
'The creatures of Beguiling Islands are very dangerous, and the combined power of the other three realms has somehow managed to contain it, but I know something is wrong.'
'Yes, why would he stop then? Why has Cecila been so negligent about it? I need to know what exactly is happening.' I said. My curiosity was killing me. I also feared it was a bit too much to take in.
Deisy slipped into deep thoughts. 'There is one way though. The tree spirits have lived forever, maybe they ca--
I ran out of there. I had no time to waste. Enough of worldly secrets. Enough of pretense. How could something so serious be neglected? How? The future of the place was in danger, and there everyone was, trying to live the perfect life.
I had to go to the right person. Who would complete the story.
Narrate the epilogue.
