'This the Pentatox, all officials and those who are related to the working of Etis, like the government resides and carries out their work here. This is the brain of Etis.' Ryan pointed as we stood on the big pentagon building's entrance. There was around an acre of open space before the main building gate could be accessed. Two flat, black pads came flying towards us. It flew really close to the ground, so only when it was inching closer, I realized it was flying.
'Hop on.' Ryan called. I quickly did. The swift motion of the pad felt fabulous. The cold air felt really admirable. 'These are Zephads. It helps us move around long distances. There no cars here you know. Plus the best part? They arrive on their own as you need them.'
We went in.
The interior was majestic. White walls ran up and high and there were huge doorways on either side of the corridor we walked. Ryan told there were various offices and that all the realms met there once in a year.
'Okay realms. The best part of Etis. We've got the Air Realm and Water Realm. The Air realm's up there above the sky and the Water realm is inside the Great Ocean. So their rulers represent their own realms here. We have an Island head too. Her name is Cecila Fonse.' Ryan spoke.
'Take me there?' I asked. My anxiety started to be replaced by curiosity. I was getting some part of it finally. Also, you really can't get the working of an entirely different and complex world in less than twenty-four hours, especially when you're in ninth grade and have just started Force and Laws of Motion in Physics class.
It was then we walked (flew) through the city center. Ryan informed me that all the people of the realms had different magical powers. While they were particularly specified for the other realms, Enchanted Islands' inhabitants, Etilets, did not know their limitations on power. 'Magic can be acquired; forms as in something other than your standard appearance can be acquired although they are greatly inherited. There is one school where everyone goes and try and test their powers. Although people in the Islands aren't that involved in magic, we generally have a balance.' He said.
We headed towards the beach on the other side of the forest. We would take off to the air realm from there. Just when we were about to take off on our pads (which became bigger and stronger now on the sway of Ryan's hand), raindrops fell from the sky.
The rain was heavy and it's sound rang all over the place. The ocean water in which the raindrops fell, glistered white and splashed upwards. Ryan's eyes glowed like small diamonds.
'You know my magic? I can see through. I have eyes that can look past anything I want and which don't see anything beyond I command.'
I looked into his eyes.
Diamond and bright eyes.
He came closer and then kissed me. Like on my lips. He brushed my hair backward and immersed his lips into mine. I didn't know what to do, neither did he. It was our first. So we sat there, on the yellow sandy ground, the magical ocean of Etis facing us as well as sending us gentle laps of waves, the rain dropping heavily, trying to figure out what the best kiss was, how exactly it worked.
It was then I realized, it was not the technicality of the efficiency in which we kissed made it perfect, the emotions and efforts we put into it did.
It was the best first kiss a girl could ever get.
'We're wet.' He declared almost after fifteen minutes of what we did. 'Let's go to the Water realm.'
And we dived into the Great Ocean. Ryan informed me that the Zephad worked in the water too, so we were able to breathe and open our eyes in there properly. Everything felt great in Etis because it was so full of surprises. And they weren't bad.
The water felt like cool air, and as I looked around, I spotted underwater rivers with their own ecosystems. There were waterfalls around them along with river pebbles. Coral reefs, pearls, and seashells were used as beautifying articles as well as everything from the dustbin to benches around the sea bed.
'There's where the Etilets live.' Ryan pointed towards his front. There were circular and cylindrical buildings scattered all over the place. They mostly looked like five-story buildings but there were smaller buildings here and there too. The lanes were paved with reefs and embarked with pearls.
'I saw a mermaid!' I practically screamed, jumped, and squeezed Ryan's hand. She was a mermaid, fish from down, human from above and her fishtail was purple in color. She had purple long hair and she wore a tube top embedded with pearls. She swiftly swam around one of a circular building and as someone opened the door, she dived in. 'Wait. They're supposed to be secretly terrible.'
'No, in Etis, the merfolk are the most selfless of all Etilets. They're vibrant creatures who can well, look for yourself.' Ryan pointed out. One merman swirled his hands to create a whirlpool. 'They can channelize the ocean water to create some phenomena or simply bring a wave. I'll not really play a guide right now, but I'll tell you the ruler's name here. He's Prakash Das.'
We then strolled about a bit. Ryan notified me that there was a school where I could learn more in detail about the working of the place properly. 'You see, I don't want to bore you. Also, I get bored when I narrate everything. You know where you'll get righteous information. I hope Etis until now has been a good experience.'
'It's been great. But what do we do now?'
'For starters, let's go meet my parents and Cecila at the Pentatox. Introducing you would be of such a pleasure.'
