The forest in which I landed for the first time in Etis, was now packed with armies. Etilets (it's a disgraceful word), warriors more accurately, filled the area. Eagles and Serpents and shape-shifting people blended in and everyone was in the middle of a fight. I had sent the Season Sisters to fight for the Air realm and Prakash to the waters.
Savannah along with Cecila's husband led the fights, followed by me, Deisy, Aspen, and Mat. Amongst the thick crowd of clashes, I spotted Zachariah and Nathaira. Everyone made way for them, so did they for me. And then amidst the bloodshed between three groups of creatures, stood us, just eyeing each other aggressively.
'Finally, finally, we see you properly. Look at how you've changed. Although much is the same. Why a fifteen-year-old teen though Queen, didn't get anything better?' Zachariah mocked.
'The Fallen Queen must have dropped her senses somewhere!' Nathaira's laughter echoed in the surroundings.
My eyes glowed repulsively, so did her's. I raised my hands, gathering all the power I could, taking a deep breath. 'I'll be quick dearest Zachariah, and hello and goodbye Nathaira.' I hissed, although Nathaira was supposed to be the one doing that here.
'Aww, Queen, never mind.' Nathaira took her steps forward. 'You aren't used to losing, but let me do the honors.'
I had finished off almost a thousand of their army by then but look at her confidence and pride. I was enough for a thousand of them. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Ryan entering the field, instantly starting to electrify foes. Aspen and Mat were at their best, and Deisy's wisdom coated magic had no bounds. Savannah was fighting bravely too, she was a true warrior.
'Do you know how unloyal your kingdom is? And how deficient your leadership is?' Zachariah taunted again. 'You had a traitor the entire time, who got us not only information but loyal soldiers in from your kingdom itself.' He laughed loudly. 'Poor you, you couldn't figure that out, how would you win a battle, teenager? Go indulge in education and play dear. Wait, you won't live long enough for that.'
'Don't worry dearie, we'll tell you the name before we kill you. And we'll make it easy, we'll disown him too. Killing him would give your Ryan a little bit of comfort. I don't know what you see in him by the way. That other school guy was better. No, actually, no one can ever replace Veer.'
Veer. I hadn't thought about him since I gained my memory back. We spent so little time together, yet my bonding with him was at another level. Nathaira had no right to speak about him even.
'Veer, don't take his name. Don't you remember? He's the one who put you all at your place? Gah! And what makes you think you can kill me?' I sneered. 'Don't forget, I'm still the Queen. The divine. Don't you remember the school day?'
To my utter surprise, both of them just chuckled. I raised my hand to burn them into ashes, but they dodged it gracefully. 'We have a gift, Queen. The Space Spirits have been generous.'
And just like that, Zachariah produced a wand out of thin air, and they both combined their magic and chanted some lines. Then, they aimed the bright white light towards me and I wasn't given even a second to dodge it. It assimilated into my body, giving me a feeling as if I was being torn apart limb to limb. I hadn't felt such pain in generations, so much pain. White light surrounded me, as I was lifted in the air.
Both of them snickered. 'We have the power to defeat the Queen. It's Prakash Das, by the way, a damn ruler.'
I saw Varya rush into the scenario and aiming her powers at me. Deisy screamed at her hysterically, and so did Mr. Roy, but she did anyway. I saw her pushed back by an invisible magnetic force, and she fell to the ground. Aspen and Mat could not stop gasping, and Aspen started crying even but had to fight on anyway.
I looked towards Ryan, who dropped on the ground, forgetting the forces which attacked him. He looked towards me, his eyes glistering with tears and loss. Mr. Roy shielded him and everyone else watched with utmost fear, even the opponents, while Zachariah and Nathaira laughed.
As I fixed my eyes on my Ryan after looking at everyone, I bet I saw that messy hair and those deep, loving, and irresistible eyes.
'Veer!' I quietly gasped and smiled as the world turned pitch black.
