'I want to know why you did that.' Fayna had such coldness in her voice, it was almost shocking. 'The Earth seriously? That's your level of cowardice? And you, Zachariah, you belong to the Air, you were in my position once, and did you not think such a disgrace it is, to our realm?'
'Think about what that Veer did to me Fayna. Be wise. You're foolish, you walked right into my domain, but I'll give you a chance, Nathaira isn't here, and it's between us. I know you want humans to have the magic to fight the virus, I also know how deeply you care about all those with wings and flight. Join me, just like the other, and we'll have a stronger front against the Queen. She's vile and angry, she's unpredictable. She'll finish you off when she has the opportunity, just like she has always done. You be my spy, and I'll lift the virus off Earth, and I promise to give you directorship for the Air Realm.'
Fayna looked convinced for some time. Luckily she reverted. 'I came here not to ask for a deal but to warn you that we'll destroy you, mind me.'
'And what if that Queen destroys you? She did the same with my grandmother's love, without a second thought.' Nathaira hissed from behind. Fayna was alerted. 'That was because she made a mistake? No, it was her fucking pride. Her power lust.'
Nathaira. She was named after that servant, the one I, punished for her wrongdoings. Its nothing wrong to me, those who make mistakes in my court die, whether the mistakes are small or they are big. That is her revenge.
'It had been the other woman, and the Marvella who's called the greatest ruler of all times could not differentiate between the innocent and the guilty. We shall never let her get away with this.' Zachariah pointed sharp glare at Fayna.
All those years back, I made a grave mistake. And I'm aware of that right now? The other woman, she betrayed me. She convinced me, how could I have faltered to such an extent?
'I'll inform Marvella of all your intentions. How you have a spy amongst us.' Fayna turned to leave.
'You know, one of the many things we learned during our disappearances and while we stopped attacking?' Zachariah played with his fingers slyly. 'We can contain magic. Yes, the only one who could do it was the Fallen Queen, but not anymore.'
And then he directed a beam of dark blue light towards Fayna, who was instantly trapped. I instinctively rose my hands to finish him off, but I realized it was a memory, and I could do nothing about it.
And then in front of my eyes, hundreds of Eagles surrounded her and drove her to death.
