Chapter 18

Identity

"Adi..." I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard someone calling me.

Inilibot ko ang tingin ko at nakita ko si Ate na naglalakad papalapit sa akin. Nagtataka man ay lumapit ako papalapit sa kaniya, she opened her arms to hug me.

Her eyes gleamed in the dark as you can clearly see the genuiness in her smile.

"I love you..." She whispered.

The way she said those words gave me chills. Pagkatapos niyang bumitaw sa pagkakayakap sa akin ay tumayo siya sa harapan ko bago hinalikan ang noo ko.

I don't know what exactly happened next but I heard screams, loud screams and after that my sister grab me as we run away through the dark, scary forest. I heard loud steps coming towards us, Ate Nicky was screaming to me to run as fast as I can but my feet is tired, really tired that I think I might fell on the floor in no time.

My heart is pounding so hard but I kept on running because I had too, Ate Nicky's grip in my hand tighten as we run through an unending race.

Suddenly someone appeared in front of us that made Ate Nicky and I stop, she laugh as soon as she slowly removed her hood but before she can do that, I heard a loud bang as Ate Nicky pushed me into the ground.

My eyes widen when I saw blood coming from her chest, she catch the bullet that supposed to hit me, she smiled at me before she fell unto the ground. I quicky moved towards her when I heard a laugh, an evil laugh that it almost made me insane.

"Ate!" I shouted as loud as I can to wake her up but she didn't even move. I cried as hard as I can shouting for her name and waking her up but she never opened her eyes.

Tears fell from my eyes as I hug her.

"Please no!" I begged as I shake her body to wake up but there's no response.

"Nooooooo!" I shouted loudly hanggang sa napabalikwas ako sa pagkakatulog. I opened my eyes at naramdaman ko ang pagsikip ng dibdib ko dahil sa panaginip na iyon, it feels surreal.

"Adi! Adi!" Davin rushed towards me and I found myself crying, tears in rolled down my eyes.

Davin looked at me worriedly. "What happened?"

"H-Hindi ko alam, h-hindi ko na maalala." I said trembling.

"Shh, it's just a dream." He said as he rub my back.

Niyakap ako ni Davin hanggang sa paunti-unti na din akong kumalma, lumabas muna ako para mahimasmasan habang si Dayn naman ay gulat na gulat ng makita akong luhaan kanina sa tabi niya, mabuti nalang at hindi siya nagising sa sigaw ko.

By six p.m I told Davin that I'll go home at babalik nalang ako mamaya para masamahan ulit siyang magbantay kay Dayn, he even insited to bring me home but I told him that it would be better to be with Dayn for the whole day.

Nadatnan kong walang tao ang buong bahay kaya tumigil ako sa harapan ng kwarto ni Ate. Hindi ko pa nache-check sa loob dahil baka magulat akong nasa loob lang pala siya at natutulog. Nakaawang iyon kagaya ng mga nakaraang araw kaya nag-aalangan akong pumasok. I knocked first dahil baka nga nasa loob lang siya at natutulog pero nakailang katok na ako pero wala namang sumasagot mula sa loob.

I tried calling her name for how many times but still, no one answered.

Bumuntong-hininga ako bago nagdesisyong pumasok na sa loob, the cold temperature inside her room welcomed me, nakabukas parin kasi hanggang ngayon ang aircondition niya.
