Chapter 23

Forgiveness

Huminga ako ng malalim bago pindutin ni Adi ang doorbell ng bahay nila Mommy, I feel really nervous. Naramdaman kong hinawakan ni Adi ang kamay ko kaya ko siya nilingon at kabadong nginitian. I feel at ease now.

Biglang bumukas ang pintuan nila kaya napatingin kami sa babaeng nagbukas ng pintuan. Mukhang ito ang kasambahay nila, agad niya kaming pinapasok sa loob at mukhang ini-expect na niyang kami ang bisit nila.

Their house is now decorated with Christmas décor, paintings are hung in their white wall, almost everything in their house is white and gold. Their five feet tall Christmas tree towered us as it is filled with gifts below. Mom walked down the stairs beaming at us, she look so happy judging by the look of her face.

"Davinson." She exclaimed then she hugged me. "I miss you anak." She added that made my heart melt a bit.

Nakaramdam ako ng iba ng sabihin niya iyon, parang biglang bumalik sa akin ang lahat ng alaala niya bilang ina. Her lessons and all the things I've learned from her as a mother.

I hugged her back.

"I miss you too Mom." I said.

Pinunasan niya naman ang mukha niya bago siya ngumiti sa akin. She looked teary eyed.

As soon as we seated in their twelve seater table the room is filled with laughter and joy. Tito Dylan, Mom's current husband talks a lot about their only son, my half brother. I can feel that he's slightly distant to me unlike before and I guess I know the answer.

He even told me that he was really scared when I last talked to him at the hospital. He's three but he really is so talkative and active.

"You know what Davin, Karl has been dying to meet you." sabi ni Mommy kaya sinaway naman siya ng maliit na bata.

"He really looks like you, akala ko nga noon ay kapatid mo eh." Bulong sa akon ni Adi.

"Kapatid ko naman talaga."

"Yeah, pero kamukhang-kamukha mo talaga, hindi halatang half brother mo lang."

"Gwapo diba?" mayabang kong tanong sa kaniya kaya humalakhak naman siya.

"Adi." I heard Mom called Adayna that made me look at them. "I just want to talk to your girlfriend anak." Sabi ni Mom ng makitang nagtataka akong nakatingin sa kanila.

Adi laughed when she saw my reaction,she mouthed 'sandali lang' before she walked wit Mom upstairs.

"Is she your girlfriend Kuya?" tanong ng kapatid ko kaya napatango naman ako.

"I believe she is, is she beautiful?"

"She is, Ate Dayn loves her, she talks a lot about her."

Ngumiti naman ako dahil sa sinabi niyang iyon.

Tumayo ako ng makitang magkasamang bumaba sina Mommy a tAdi, I saw Adi mouthed 'thank you' to her before they hug each other, I pictured that exact moment in my eyes where I saw the two most beautiful women of my life hug each other.

Mom sat beside me as she hold my hand. She's holding an old album, ipinatong niya ang kamay niya sa ulo ko at ginulo iyon. "Ang laki laki mo na." aniya na tila ba ngayon niya lang ako nakita muli.

"I know you still have questions Davin, that's why I wanted you to know everything about what happened before."

"Your Dad, he's my bestfriend in highschool." Panimula ni Mom sabay bukas sa album na hawak niya kaya napatingin naman ako don. "He knew I love Dylan but he's still pursuing his love for me, my parents were against with Dylan, so David promised to help us."
