To Infinity and Beyond

"Hi Honey! How are you?", the photographer greeted Jisoo the moment she answered the videocall.

"Fine Baby. I'm glad you could call. We didn't have much time a while ago."

"Yeah. I'm sorry I called late. The shoot just got finished and Jennie and I will just be having dinner then go home."

"It's fine Babe. I already had a nap so I'm not sleepy anymore. I knew you'd call. How's Paris and Jennie? Does she work you up so much?"

"Paris is still beautiful. I wish you're here. Jennie's such a good project partner. She's so professional and really knows what she wants. The shoot ended up pretty good. We're both happy with the result. How about you?"

"Everything's well too. Treasure's 5th album was a success. The newly debuted mixed group is doing well too."

"That's good to hear, Babe. Don't tire yourself too much, okay? I miss you already and I can't wait to come home."

"Oh my Dad misses you too, more than he misses me! What did you do to my father??", Jisoo exclaims kiddingly.

Lisa bubbles in a laugh at what Jisoo said. Truth be told, after the fishing fiasco three months ago, Mr. Kim and her became best buddies although the father refuses to admit it. But everytime Lisa is in Seoul, Mr. Kim always makes it to a point to invite her over for a dinner.

"I caught a total of three fishes now he's an avid fan. What can I do?", Lisa kids back.

And it's Jisoo's turn to crack up.

The thought of that picnic memory would always bring a smile and good laugh to the girls' faces. Who wouldn't? When Lisa caught the first fish, Jisoo's father was so elated that wanted the girl to cast her rod all over again. In total, Lisa caught three fishes and Mr. Kim was happier, saying Lisa is a lucky charm. If only he knows the truth.

For the whole duration of that camping night, it was full of dancing, singing, telling jokes, laughters and serious parenting talks. And Jisoo was happiest seeing her family, plus extended family getting along more than she had ever hoped.

In the end, Mr. Kim offered a toast, saying, "I am so proud of each of you, my children. Forgive your old man for his shortcomings and stubborness. I only wanted what I thought what's best for you. But now I know and understand that what I think may not actually be the best for you. I love you all. And to Lisa...."

Everyone was waiting for what's next.
"Join me in my fishing activities, you're really a lucky charm." and everyone broke into laughters.

"But kidding aside, I am happy to welcome you to our family. And of course, Chaeyoung and Jennie, I welcome you two too. You've played a big part in Jisoo's life.", Mr. Kim bowing to the girls to acknowledge them.

"Dad, make it quick, our arms are hurting already! Are you receiving an award for Best Fisherman of the Year?", Jisoo teases and made the others laugh.

"Yaah! This kid really!", Mr. Kim said but smiled when Jisoo made a kissy kissy face towards him. "Anyway, as I was saying, welcome to our family. May we and your families be always blessed and may we always be a blessing to others. Cheers!!"

"Cheers!"

"I gotta go, Love. Jennie's yelling at me now. And she said "Hi!"."

"Okay Baby, take care. Get something to eat and rest. Stop arguing with your Unnie."

"I will! Bye! Hmmmuaah! I love you!"

"Love you too!"

Jisoo has her sweetest smile even after the call. She misses the young girl so much but she understands the situation. And those almost everyday videocalls always bring a smile to her face and eases a little bit of what she's feeling because of her absence.
