Desperate Times

"Hi mom! How are you and Dad?", Jisoo asks over the phone.

"Hi Honey. Hmmm where are you?", Mrs. Kim asked.

"At the office mom. Why?"

"Is Lisa with you right now?".

"No mom, she already went back to Korea few days ago. Why do you ask?"

"Oh nothing dear. Uhmmm, you're father wants you to go home as soon as possible."

Jisoo creased her forehead.

"Why? Is there a problem there? Couldn't Dad tell me over the phone. I'm kinda busy these days mom. Really super duper busy."

"Your father wants to talk to you about an important matter. Here in the house. Please take some time off.", her mom was pleading at the same serious about it.

"Oh okay. I'll see what I can do. I'll call you mom when I'll be heading home."

"Okay sweetie. Please do take care. Bye!"

"Yes mom, you too. Bye, love you!"

The call bothered her, but as much as she wanted to delve on it, she had to shake it off her brain and go back to the pile of papers in front of her.

Three days thereafte, a suspicious and quite malicious korean site surfaced with a shocking headline.

"Sajangnim, may I come in?", asked Ms. Chick that morning.

"Yes, come in.", said Jisoo in the intercom.

Once inside, Ms. Chick immediately approached her boss.

"What is it?", asked Jisoo without looking up from the paper she is currently reading.

"I'm sorry to disturb you Sajangnim but I have come across this site, a korean showbiz site where it features idols and celebrities. It's like Dispatch but it's quite new in the business."

"And..?", Jisoo, still not looking.

"And I read an article that seems suspicious."

"Why so?"

"Hmmmm because I think it's about you.", Ms. Chick nervously said.

And that made Jisoo freeze and slowly look at her secretary.

"Here.", she said, handing to her boss her phone, already opened to the site.

Jisoo slowly got the phone and read the said article. Her heartbeat raced the moment she read the caption and the article itself. It was just short and did not drop names but only general hints.

"Former members of a famous girl group (disbanded) seems to be dating."

And the articles reads as follows:

"Shocking..but not quite. Two former members of a popular girl group, which has already disbanded, were seen by people in several places in a very intimate manner. Clue? Even before, people strongly believed that they were dating...because they themselves were showing signs. But sadly, no confirmation was made."

Jisoo gave back the phone and leaned back to her chair.

"What do you think boss?"

"It's a possibility. But since that site is new I don't think it would focus on someone who is no longer an idol for a long time. If I were to start a fuss and get people to be hooked with my new site then I would focus more on matters related to the currentl idols. And besides, no names were dropped and the clue given is so vague and general. It could pertain to other disbanded groups."
