Darryl's POV

I woke to the sun beaming down on my face. I stretched my arms and legs out, sighing as I did. After staring at the ceiling, I looked over to Mega. He laid in his bed, eyes closed. His scarf laid on the floor below him, exposing the rest of his face. He seriously didn't like anyone seeing it, but I wished he would realize his birthmark made him unique.

I sat up, looking at the old clock on our wall. It was 8:42, meaning I had 15 minutes till I had to wake Mega up. I felt kind of bad though, he looked exhausted. I don't know when I fell asleep, but Mega couldn't have stayed up for too long.

So I got up and went to our dresser. Mega's drawer was half open, so I went to close it. As I did, I saw something new. I opened his drawer again and peered in. It was a notepad, a small one. Mega didn't use those anymore, I was always by his side to translate. And I know this wasn't here yesterday, I put away his clothes.

I glanced back at Mega. He was still asleep, his breaths long and heavy. Then I looked back at the notepad. Snooping is not my style, but he didn't leave my side yesterday. So how he acquired this notepad is beyond me. I picked it up, noting how the pages already had some writing on it.

I shouldn't be snooping... Mega wouldn't hide anything from me. Maybe he was writing down notes to remember for this morning. I shook my head, setting the notepad down and then I closed the drawer. I couldn't snoop, it would only hurt Mega.

So I pulled my clothes out, my clean ones, and put them on. I took my dirty ones and placed them in the hamper. I glanced at the clock again. Only five minutes before we should be in the throne room.

"Mega... wake up..." I said softly, not trying to scare him. His eyes flew open and he looked around till he saw me. Then he sat up, yawning a little. "Are you tired?" I asked, sitting back down on my bed. He nodded and walked to the dresser. I looked away while he changed, letting him have his privacy.

I felt Mega tap me, so I turned to look at him. He started moving his hands quickly. 'I have to tell you something later, after the meeting. Probably before the scout.'

"Ok! Speaking of the meeting, let's get going you muffinhead. We don't want to be late." I smiled at him. Inside, I was quite relieved. Maybe Mega would explain why the notepad was in his dresser, or something relating to that. Not snooping has it's perks!

Mega opened our door and headed out, not holding it for me. I rolled my eyes and followed after him. I caught up easily, my strides far longer than his. He glared at me, increasing his speed. I smirked, watching his legs move quickly to keep up. We arrived at the throne room quickly, both of us shooting glares at each other as we waited for our names to be called.

Then, the doors started opening. One of Dream's main guards, I think his name was George, stepped out. "Hey, come in. Main staff is needed, one of the guards found something from last night." George then left the door, leaving it open for us. I glanced at Mega. He looked as if he had just seen a ghost.

"Don't worry Mega, I bet it's nothing. Come on." I went through the door, going to my spot. I glanced back and saw Mega slowly following me, his head down. Odd, why was he so scared? This wasn't about to get us killed, we didn't do anything wrong!

"We are all here, sir." I heard George say. Dream nodded, then looked at Techno. Before both of them stood a guard. I didn't recognize him, he looked to be in his 30s.

"You said you found something." Techno looked directly at the guard. The guard nodded and he reached down to remove a towel.

He raised a sword, an iron sword. It was dented and seemed to have been used before. Someone knew how to use a sword.

I looked at Dream first. No one could see his face, but his body posture said enough. He was shocked to the say the least, just like everyone else. No one found a sword from outside of the castle. No one in the village would even dare to have one.
