Skeppy's POV
(TW/ Violence and Death. Skip past flashback if you do not want to read.)
"Zak! Help!"
"Get over it, dude!"
"You let her die!"
I hit the side of my head, trying to stop the voices that kept rushing through my mind. I didn't need to think about this now! It's been 2 years, I should be over it by now!
I yelped when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around quickly, reaching for my sword. Mega hands were up, his eyes wide. I let out a breath, putting a hand on my chest.
"Mega! Don't sneak up on people like that!" Even with Mega's scarf around his mouth, I could tell he was laughing inside. I rolled my eyes, still smiling nonetheless.
Mega pulled a notepad out of his pocket and started writing on it. Then, he handed it over to me. I read over it and sighed. "I know Harvey is sorry. I shouldn't have overreacted like that. Way to come back with a fresh start." I handed the note pad back to him. I glanced around, deciding to sit on a rock nearby. Mega sat nearby, writing swiftly.
He handed me the notepad. I read through, wincing a little. "I don't know... did anyone follow you?" Mega shook his head, his green scarf shaking as well. I sighed, looking at the sky.
"You promise not to tell anyone?" I looked back at Mega, who rolled his eyes, pointing to his mouth. "Yea, yea, but you can still talk to Da- I mean Bad through sign language." Mega shrugged and shook his head. He folded his arms against his chest and leaned against a tree. I sighed, putting my hands over my face.
"Ok, ok, it was about two years ago..."
Flashback (No TW here)
"Come on Zak! You are so slow!" My sister, Sam, ran ahead of me. We were running through the village square, trying to get some fruits for dinner tonight. Mom told me to go, but Sam wanted to tag along. So here we were, my older sister destroying me in this race like she always did.
"You got longer legs! Not fair!" I yelled out, struggling to breathe. Eventually I just gave up and slowed to a walk. Sam noticed and stopped as well, a smirk on her face.
"Better stamina, better hair, better everything!" She smiled proudly, her glowing, white teeth showing. I rolled my eyes. Sam was exactly what someone wanted in a daughter. Smart, tall, and outgoing. Then there's me, almost the complete opposite of her.
"Whatever, let's get these dumb fruits so we can go home." I walked past her, not meeting her eyes. She always acted like she was better, even though I could easily beat her in a sword fight. Sure, maybe it's because she has never held a sword, but that's not the point!
I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, my focus on the ground. I crashed into a robe of some sort, hitting whoever was wearing it harshly. I stumbled and fell back, landing on my butt. I rubbed my head and then looked up.
And gosh dang it, I should really look where I am going.
There he was, the man everyone feared the most. King Technoblade ,fearsome ruler of this land. He stared down at me, an evil smirk on his lips. I tried to crawl backwards, but one of his guards grabbed me. I stared into the guard's eyes. He looked older, his brown, curly hair seeming to float in the air.
