Secret Tunnel

Skeppy's POV

I winced as Finn wrapped the bandage tightly around my wrist. He sighed, tossing the dirty bandage in a can. "Those people are insane. They just can't accept change or anything like that. We have endless ways to improve our futures and yet they don't believe us!" Finn huffed, kicking the can. I put my other hand on the bandaged wrist, shrugging.

"Maybe they are just traditionalists. It doesn't mean any of your inventions are horrible, it just means they want everything to stay the same." I put my good hand on Finn's shoulder, smiling softly. He sighed, giving a little smile back.

"We all wish everything could stay the same. But things happen and lives change, whether we like it or not." Finn rubbed his face then stepped away, letting me stand up.

"Not everything changed, it just got messed up a little." I jumped, not expecting Vurb's voice. I turned to him. He smiled. "I mean, we are all here! Sure, no Jacob or Geo, but all we need is to find them and everything can go back to normal." I sighed, looking away from Vurb.

"I wish we were here for a wholesome reunion, but it's a bit more serious. We can talk with the others, but," I paused, looking behind Vurb. Bad and Harvey were laughing and Mega had his hands over his face. I smiled then looked back to Finn and Vurb. "I know it might sound weird and all, but call me Skeppy for now."

"Oh, that's why Bad called you that! I just thought he was talking about his imaginary best friend." Finn and I shot Vurb a look. He held his hands up innocently. "Just a joke, take it easy you wet blankets."

I sighed and pushed Vurb out of the shelter. He glared at me and went to sit next to Harvey. Finn sat next to Mega, leaving me to sit next to Darryl. Perfect.

"Ok, like I said, as much as it's nice to see you guys again, we did come with a purpose." I started. "About, I don't know, maybe four days ago, I met Mega outside of the castle walls..." I told them everything, start to finish. Yea, I left out certain parts, like me fighting with Bad and breaking down, but that stuff wasn't important.

"Dang..." Finn whispered, putting his chin in his hands. Vurb glanced at Finn then back at me.

"I think that... is... crazy." I sighed, looking down. Great, they probably won't even join us. We came all this way for nothing.

"But... we like crazy." I looked back up and saw grins on Finn's and Vurb's faces. "Oh come on, no way we would leave you hanging on this. Plus, we might be more help than you think." Finn stood up and signaled for us to follow. Harvey's eyes and my eyes connected, slightly relieved yet confused looks on our faces. We all got up and followed Finn.

He led us past the shelter, deeper into the woods. I glanced around. It was complete wilderness but we were walking on a worn path. Finn and Vurb walked next to each other and the rest of us walked together.

"Here we are!" Finn exclaimed, gesturing to a... tree. Harvey and I glanced at each other.

"No offense, Finn," Darryl stepped forward, looking the tree up and down. "but how, exactly, is a tree going to help us?" Finn laughed and rolled his eyes.

"I'm not that stupid. It's not the tree, it's this." Finn kneeled down and pushed the bushes away from the base of the tree. And there was a trapdoor, perfectly hidden next to the tree. Finn opened the trap door and I could see a ladder leading down into the darkness.

"Please keep your hands and feet on the ladder at all times so you don't crush the person below you." Vurb said, going down before the rest of us. Finn followed him, leaving the rest of us looking at the hole.

"Uh... mutes first!" I pushed Mega ahead. He glared at me but proceeded down. Bad followed him with Harvey right on his tail. I glanced around the forest again then headed for the ladder myself. I closed the trap door and climbed down slowly. I could see Harvey and some light below me.

When I finally got to the bottom, I gasped. The room was fully lit up with torches on the walls. Lots of equipment, armor and swords, were on in glass cabinets around the walls. In the middle was four tables, evenly distanced apart.

"We weren't called witches for no reason!" Vurb grinned. 

"This is incredible! Everything is so well made... did you guys make this stuff?" Harvey looked at the cabinet full of swords. Darryl looked at another cabinet that was filled with bows.

"Of course, stealing is too much work. Finn is pretty good at everything you see in the cabinets." Finn smiled, covering his face a little. I smiled. Same old Finn, always modest when he got compliments. "Now, I make the fun things."

"I don't like the sound of that." Harvey smirked. Vurb rolled his eyes and opened the drawers in one of the tables. He took out a small black box with a red oval on it.

"Being called witches wasn't because of our amazing armory, it was because of this. The first ever electric button. Sure, we have lights and horns and blah blah, but this is incredible. Hitting this button when it is activated will set off another one of my creations." Vurb set the device down and went to the only cabinet that wasn't glass. He opened the doors, revealing a red and white block.

"This is trinitrotoluene, or TnT for short, put into an explosive form. I've programmed them to all be wired to that button. If I activate the button, these would blow up and make this room collaspe." Darryl eyed Vurb warily. Vurb laughed, shaking his head. "Don't worry, the button isn't activated. Only I know how to activate it for safety reasons."

"So, you did this, all on your own?" I stepped forward, touching the blow Vurb had in his hand. He nodded, smiling proudly.

"This, along with a lot of other things. I don't know how helpful this could be, but making a place go boom boom is always an option." We all laughed, smiles on our faces. 

"I can't believe all of this is your guys. You guys really grew up from the last time we saw you." Harvey said, a small smile on his face. Vurb and Finn smiled back.

"Hey, we all have to grow up eventually. I'm just glad we could see you guys again and meet you two." Finn smiled back at Darryl and Mega. Darryl nodded gratefully and Mega gave a small smile. 

"So, when do we get started?"
