It's 11 in the morning and Julie is still peacefully sleeping. I dont wanna wake her up. Not yet. She need more to rest, I know.
I went downstairs to prepare her a porridge and a lemon juice. I looked around the house to examine if there were changes but found nothing. Walang nabago. Walang napalitan. I smiled and brought the food inside our room. Its close to 12 in the afternoon and this means I really have to wake her up.
"Julie," i whispered as I touched her hair.
She stirred but never open her eyes.
"Julie Anne," my second attempt was a success. She open her eyes slowly.
"Hi," i greeted and then smiled at her when she suddenly forced to shut her eyes again and tuck herself in the quilt.
"Julie, what's going on with you?" i asked worriedly.
"Are you real?" she asked and slowly peek through the quilt.
"I am," i sighed.
She was just looking at me. We gaze each other for about five minutes and then I gave up.
"Kailangan mo ng kumain," and then I showed her the tray with foods I prepared for her. She nodded and then sat properly as she began to eat.
There's something weird about her.
"Why do you keep staring?" tanong ko sa kanya.
"I dont wanna lose sight of you," nabigla ako sa sagot niya.
"Julie, Im just here. Okay? Im not leaving you. Not until you ask me," she nodded and finished her food. I held and removed the tray infront of her.
I sat on her bed as she lay down again.
"Are you feeling better now?" tanong ko sa kanya. Her hand on her forehead.
"Yeah. So much better. Thank you," and then for the first time in long months, she smiled at me and I smiled back at her like an idiot. Im just so happy to see her smile again.
"Tumawag si Tita Tracy kanina, she asked if you can attend your mall tour today," I started.
"That I almost forgot. Saan daw?" bigla siyang bumangon at bigla ding nahilo. She lay back on the bed with her eyes shut.
"Julie, ano ba!" i almost shouted. Her eyes was teary when I looked at her.
"Im.. Im so sorry," I apologized. "Nag aalala lang naman ako. Im so sorry," i explained.
"Kailangan kong pumunta sa mall tour, Moe," her voice was pleading.
"Julie, its okay. I tweeted out something about this when you're still sleeping. They said they understand. So you've got a whole day today to rest," sabi ko at nakatitig siya sa akin. I heard her sigh.
"Tell me if you wanted something. Ibababa ko lang toh," i showed her the tray. I saw panicked in her eyes. So I decided to stay inside the room.
"Okay, im not gonna leave. I'll do it later," tumabi ako sa kanya. I wrapped my arms around her as she pressed her body on me. How I missed this kind of moment with you, love.
"Moe?" Her voice was almost a whisper.
"Yeah?"
"Please, stay." Her voice grew a little louder.
"I can stay here with you for a little while," i smiled.
"No. I mean. Stay. With me. Forever," what she just said to me was definitely astounding and I cant even describe this feeling. All i know was it's beyond happiness. Ang tagal kong hinintay tong panahon na ito. Finally. I just hope she wont take back her words as soon as she gets conscious. Kasi alam ko, nadadala lang siya sa emosyon niya ngayon na may sakit siya.
I didnt answer but I kissed her forehead and touched her hair.
"Go back to sleep, love," I whispered.
