"Baby, are you sure? Okay ka lang talaga dito sa bahay?" for the nth time, she asked.
"Yes, love. I'll be fine here. Ilang oras lang naman eh," I smiled and she sat beside me on our sofa bed.
"Where are you taking me after rehearsal?" With her wide smile, she looked at me in the eyes. She's pretty excited, I can tell.
"Ummm," I think. "I dont know yet. Lalabas ba tayo? I thought susunduin lang kita?" I playfully asked.
Her smile faded and then stood up, get her bag and walked to the parking area.
I chuckled as I followed her behind.
"Hey!" I reached for her elbow and I stood infront as I held her chin and I look into her sad eyes.
I gave her a huge smile and shook my head.
"Ang dali daling magtampo," I then pulled her into a hug.
I bend down low and whispered to her ears,
"Surprise sana yun eh. Pero since nagtatampo ka na, sasabihin ko na."
"Roadtrip tayo later. Havent done that with you for so long," i revealed.
She hugged me and said "Thank you."
I hugged her back and reminded her to hurry up for her rehearsal.
She sat on her driving seat as i lock her seatbelt and put the key on the ignition and she started the engine.
"See you later, love." I told her as I leaned in to get my kiss.
She drove away as I hurry back inside the house and got my phone.
I ring Dev's and she answered immediately.
"Elmo, istorbo ka talaga! Kumakain ako eh," i heard her complained and i giggled.
"I'm proposing to her next month," I said and im kind of nervous of what she's gonna say about me proposing to Julie. I was busy thinking of what to add next when i heard a constant cough on the other line.
"Dev? Are you okay?" i asked sounded anxious.
"Magalona! Ulitin mo nga yung sinabi mo?"
"I said, im proposing to Julie next month," i repeated.
And then she started freaking out.
"I will need your help."
"I know. And i am more than willing to help, Moe. Sa wakas! What took you so long to decide?" she asked when she calmed down.
I smiled and answered, "Antagal kong gustong gawin toh and you know that Dev. Timing lang."
"Oh yeah," she said and there was a silence.
"Thank you, Dev." i suddenly say after processing the very subject of our talk at this very moment.
"Her heart has been unhappy for a long time. It's about time. I know it will always be you, Moe. Let her feel that complete happiness. Yung walang kulang. Sobrahan mo na din," i felt Dev smile.
"Alam ko Dev. And it really feels good to be back by her side. Yung feeling na kahit pupunta lang siya sa rehearsal, ang hirap ko siyang pakawalan. But im trying my best to act normal," i chuckled and so did she.
"Nasabi mo na sa akin yan 5 years ago, Mokong ka. Inlove na inlove ka talaga sa bestfriend ko no?" she laughed and I joined in as I answered, "Sobra."
"This is nothing but love," i butt in. Cheeziness overload.
"Haha. Alam ko. Alam ko. Okay, lets end this convo na. You know im just a call away pag nagplano na." She is the best Dev of all the Devs!
