"Babe, call me via skype after an hour," I received a message from her.
I typed in, "Copied, love."
And then she didnt reply. Tapos na ba ang show? I wonder.
But I busy myself doing some stuffs while waiting. I booked Mom already for her trip. We agreed yesterday that she'll go and get the ring next week before Julie comes home. Mom was really happy when I told her that i'm doing it real soon. For the first time in forever, i heard her scream. I shook my head as I remember her reaction. Nakakatuwa. Though i havent spoken to my sisters, Abby and Jane.
I checked my wrist watch. It's time.
I tapped the video call icon and after its third ring, she finally answered.
There she was, holding the microphone: singing while skype-ing.
I shook my head with a huge smile on my face.
"Hey guys! Say hi!" she was laughing when she turned her phone around to show a thousands of people inside the arena.
I waved my hand as i greeted them hi with a smile on my face and the crowd goes wild.
I heard them cheering, "JuliElmo!!"
"Youuuu!" i mouthed when Julie was facing the screen again. She grinned as she continue the part.
With her eyes closed, she sang,
"Cause everyday, every night. I keep looking at the skies.
And i pray that someday you will wake up in my arms,"
She opened her eyes as she hit the high notes.
"...And love will never end."
She looked at me. I saw happiness in her beautiful eyes. Not just that but more than that. I smiled at her as I focused to listen.
"We belong together. Always and forever. Call my name and i'll be there."
And then she ended the song. For the last time, she showed me the crowd and I waved goodbye. And then Julie made her way to the backstage without dropping the call.
Once she get in her dressing room, she sat down and put on her cardigan.
"So hi baby," she giggled.
I laughed for no reason.
"You were amazing, love." i started and i heard her answered, "auuuuw. Thank you."
"But that was insane. You didnt tell me about it," i added as i laughed harder and so did she.
"Baby, its a surprise. And! The crowd loved it. They miss you. So much," she arched her brows up and down.
I think i know what that means. I shook my head again.
"Cmon, baby! Namimiss ka na nila. Balik ka na daw," her convincing voice is I think working. I wanna say yes but I have to think about it thoroughly.
"I will think about it, love." i smiled.
"Tsssss!!! Panis!" she teased.
"Lets talk about it when you get back. I have plans, yknow," i said.
"Like what?" she asked.
"Like.... I wanna be your PA when you tour again," i let out a soft laugh and her forehead creased. She didnt say a thing but i kind of get what that means.
"Love, i just wanna be there to take care of you," i said with all my convincing power and pleading eyes but she shook her head.
"Gusto ko yung idea na sasamahan mo ako at aalagaan mo ako, but babe, I cant let you do it. You have your own career and all I want you to do is to continue what you have started. Your fans are dying to see and hear you rap again. Kaya.. Please?" this time she's the one pleading.
I think for awhile and realized she's right.
"Okay. Pero pag uusapan pa din natin toh when you get back," pilit ko at napa buntong hininga siya muli at tumango.
"Go grab some food, love. Pumayat ka?" I pretended to study her figure.
"No. Tumataba na nga yata ako. Havent hit the gym for a week," she pouted. Such busy creature.
"Ang sexy mo pa rin naman. You worry too much, San Jose," i laughed.
"Whatevs." She held a wet tissue and started removing her make up. I stayed quiet as i watch her do it.
And after awhile, hindi ko napigilang hindi nagsalita at sabing, "You look way gorgeous without make up."
"You and your pambobola, Magalona. You're getting better, baby." she grinned again.
"No, im serious," trying so hard not to show my smile, i managed to say that.
She shook her head and faced me. Now without make up.
"Bakit ang gwapo mo?" bigla niyang tanong.
"Uhhhmm, you need to work on your acting skills, love. Not convincing," i smirked.
"im telling the truth," seryoso nga yung mukha niya pero sa bandang huli, ngumiti pa rin siya.
"Okay. Time's up. Go find Ninang, now," i said bossily. Para makapag pahinga na din siya.
She immediately nodded and say,
"I miss you."
"I know. I love you." i whispered and she said the same thing. After a few second, we ended the call.
I stood up and wanted to busy myself so i wouldnt think about her again but my heart and mind always betray me.
