I volunteered as her driver slash bodyguard today because her driver was sick. We were on the way to the network station for her meeting which i forgot to ask what was this all about. I gave her a quick look and saw her smiling while looking at her fingers. Weird.
"Why are you smiling like crazy?" i smirked as i held the steering wheel a little tighter.
She didnt look at me. I just heard her sigh happily and said, "I just cant believe I'm engaged."
It took me a few seconds to process what she said and i then realized that she has been staring at her engagement ring since we left the house thirty minutes ago.
"Thank you, again, love. Kinakabahan ako kagabi," i confessed.
With a very confused look, she asked, "Bakit?"
"Baka kasi bigla mong sabihing NO."
"That will never happen," she answered as she face me.
"Ako nga dapat ang mag thank you din. You've been very patient. Kahit ang busy na ng schedule ko, anjan ka pa rin, waiting for me. Words arent even enough para sa pag the-thank you ko sayo," mahinhin niyang sabi.
I smiled at her. "Love, you dont have to say thank you. Im used to it. Loving you is the best thing i've ever done and im still doing it. No matter how busy you are, always remember that i'll always be here for you, aalagaan kita and all that."
She looked away shyly. And did i just saw her face reddened? I almost laugh when she looked at me again and she's really red. Her palm on her face.
"Okay, ayoko na! Kinikilig na ako!" she's laughing and i really find it perfect. I chuckled and then shook my head.
"Okay. I love you." I ended the convo and just in time, we got to the station before we could open up another topic to talk about.
"Hihintayin na lang ba kita dito?" i asked.
"Ayoko! Come with me. Mabilis lang to na meeting, babe," she said as she got out from the car.
Okay. Ayoko sanang makialam or sumama sa mga meetings niya but since she said it herself, sasama ako this time.
So we hit the 22nd floor and found the meeting room. I saw a lot of familiar faces. Direk Gab and Direk Mark. Sir Jimmy. Some photographers.
"Love, i'll stay right here," i whispered in her ears the moment we stepped inside the room. Nahihiya na tuloy ako. She pulled me beside her and whisperd back, "No. You'll stay beside me."
"Hello po, magandang hapon po," she greeted them as she flashed a beautiful smile.
"Julie, dear," Direk Mark gave her a kiss on the cheeks.
"Moe, it is so nice to see you again!" Direk Mark and Gab came near me and gave me a tight embrace. I miss working with them. Julie let go of my hand as I hugged them back.
"Namiss ko na po kayong makatrabaho," i sighed. Memories are flashing on my mind. I remember the days that Julie and I were still starting. Them two made a lot of ways and molded us to be a better performer and soon pair us up to be partners onstage. Andami kong utang kila Direk.
"Bumalik ka na kasi, Nak! Andami ng naghahanap sayo," Direk Gab told me.
"Malapit na po. Malapit na," i smiled and looked at Julie. She smiled widely at me as i smiled back at her and then look around.
"This meeting isnt about me. Sige na po. Start na kayo. I'll be quiet here," i let out a little laugh as they all agreed and Tita Tracy came in 5 minutes after Direk Mark and Gab and I chatter for a bit and she started talking.
