You landed on your balcony and walked into your apartment. Quite tired from the day since it was getting late, and since you practically spent the whole day at Mina's place. You opened your phone to text her that you had gotten home safely

As you looked up from your phone you quickly came to notice a piece of paper on your counter. You grabbed it and saw there was a phone number written in it. Confused you decided to call it. It started to ring and you then heard someone pick up.

You reluctantly said "hello" and with the phone in your ear heard "Oh hey babybird". Chills ran through your spine as you quickly recognized the nickname.

"Hawks why was this number on my counter" you questioned. "I figured I should give you my number since we're going to spend a week together starting Monday" he replied. "Oh okay I guess that makes sense" you said letting out a slight yawn.

"You okay you sound kinda tired kid" he asked. "Just a little I was at Mina's all day and just got back" you responded.

"Well get some rest babybird love you"

"love you too" you responded before you froze realizing what you had both said.

Hawks POV-

We had both said I love you like it was the most natural thing in the world. I froze and she was silent. It was utter silence over the phone so I decided to say "Um my bad I gotta go get back to patrol". "It's fine I was going to bed anyway, ugh you know stay safe don't die or whatever" she nervously chuckled through the phone.

"Of course not, sleep well" I said awkwardly, "Yeah ugh bye" she said strangely before hanging up.

"Why did I have to say I love you ughhhh" I groaned to myself while landing on top of a random building. "Now I made everything awkward and a day away before Y/n starts the internship, and she has to stay at my house" I continued talking to myself.

What if she never talks to me again, or if she thinks I'm crazy. No no no she did say it back or maybe it was a reflex, why is this so complicated. Maybe I can just wait till Monday and see what she does.

Better yet I'll just pretend like it never happened. And I'll still be able to watch over her using the feather she doesn't know I left in her apartment , problem solved. I concluded

'Oh God am I a stalker'

I was honestly too tired to even think into what had just happened between me and Hawks so I decided to just go to bed. I changed into a large shirt with male boxers underneath and crawled into bed and laying down hoping sleep would befall me.
