Chapter 35

Karrueche pushed Jaylen's stroller down the aisle as Toni walked alongside her. They were in the mall heading towards the Gucci store not to far from where they currently were.

"I'll be right back." Toni said walking over to the trashcan that wasn't too far off to toss her garbage in.

"Okay." Karrueche nodded doing some window shopping.

Jaylen began to cry, Karrueche stopped and looked down at him she leaned forward and placed his pacifier back into his mouth. He spat it out and began to cry even louder a couple people began to look as they passed by them.

"What's wrong Jaylen?" Karrueche cooed unstrapping him and taking him out of his stroller, she began to rock him but he refused to stop crying.

She circled around the stroller but he still refused. Toni came back and watched her for awhile before she held her arms open. Karrueche sighed before gently handing him over to Toni. Toni laid him against her chest and lightly rubbed his back in circles. He burped and finally calmed down.

"Just as I thought he had to burp." Toni said, "no need to brag ma..." Karrueche playfully rolled her eyes.

Toni chuckled as Karrueche began to push the stroller whilst Toni lightly rubbed Jaylen's back walking alongside Karrueche.

"Kae!"

Karrueche's heart rate sped up as she and Toni turned around and faced Chris.

"Chris..." Karrueche trailed off scanning him from head to toe. "Mrs Edmonds. Thank you for that little speech the other day- is that-"

"My grandson, yes." Toni said taking in Chris's features, she never truly did take the time to scan them.

"Karrueche-"

"Chris please, if you're here to-"

"No no. I've moved past all that. I just got out of rehab, 3 months sober, and I'm gonna be a father soon." Chris smiled happily.

"That's great Chris." Karrueche said with a warm smile even though the news kind of broke her heart.

"I'll leave you two." Toni said sensing the awkwardness, she fixed Jaylen's stroller before she laid him down and immediately once she saw Jaylen's face it hit her.

She frowned turning around to face Chris again. Her eyes slightly widened.

"Kae I'll be at Victoria Secrets." Toni stated grabbing the handles of the stroller and pushing it away from the two.

"Mm..." Toni moaned inhaling the delicious aroma that greeted her nose as soon as she and Karrueche walked into the house.

"Your father's cooking, thank god..." Toni let out a sigh of relief.

Karrueche flashed her a weak smile.

"I'll go put him in his crib." Karrueche said referring to Jaylen who was asleep on her chest, she went upstairs as Toni frowned.

Toni walked into the kitchen and saw Kenny with his Freak 1 apron on as he cut up the large pieces of steak before him on the tray as he listened to 'Purple Rain by Prince'.
