Chapter 17: Pretend

No one's POV:

The Karasuno team had successfully won the second set while Terushima was out trying to cool off. He was left all hot and bothered after his little talk with Suga.

Suga's POV:

I was pretty tired, I had given it my all throughout this second set and it paid off. We now had a few minutes before the last set so we got together. "Suga Senpai! You were amazing! Not as grumpy as Kageyama" Hinata seemed excited which made me happy. "Tch Hinata Boke" he crossed his arms and looked away.

Daichi seemed satisfied too, "We are an amazing team. I'm proud of everyone. It doesn't matter if you're officially in the court or not, you're all here for a reason." Everyone agreed to what Daichi said, they seemed determined to win the entire match. The moment made me feel good, it felt like it was all back to normal...you know, before all the recent drama.

When I turned to look at Daichi, I was surprised to see he was already looking at me. I couldn't help but smile, as he did the same. "You did great Suga..." I stepped closer to him and kissed his cheek lightly and softly. Woah he's blushing. I could hear Nishinoya in the background "GET IT SUGAMAMA". This kid. Daichi looked into my eyes with a fond smile. "I think...we need to talk about what happened earlier today." My heart suddenly started to beat faster and I looked down, I was not ready to get hurt again if that was the case. I had just started to feel good for it to go downhill again.

"I want to start by saying that I-" He took a deep breath. Say it say it, say it. I hadn't realized but I had started to lean forward in anticipation, while also looking at his lips. I knew what I wanted him to say. I wanted him to say that three-word sentence that would mean the start of something new...He just had to say it! and if he did, I'd be ready to kiss the hell out of him even if it were to be in front of everyone in the training room.
"I like y-" Then before Daichi could finish, someone tackled him to the floor. A girl. "BABY I CAME HERE TO SEE YOU PLAY!" She sounded too loud and her voice was really high. It was Michimiya San.

Terushima's POV:

Shit got interesting real fast. Apparently, the 'perfect' Karasuno captain has had a girlfriend this whole time while getting it on with number 2. This is hilarious. I decided to head their way because I was starting to get bored and this was about to get entertaining. "Well, well, well..." I couldn't help but laugh, I was obviously enjoying this. I stood next to Suga, who looked extremely annoyed. "Not feeling that great anymore huh?". He punched my arm pretty hard and then looked away. "S-shut up". I kinda felt sorry for him for a second but then I remembered that this would make it easier for me to end up with him tonight. Even if we lost, Daichi would be too busy with his girlfriend to stop me from doing anything.

No one's POV:

Michimiya eventually removed herself from Daichi on the floor and she helped him up. They were standing in front of Terushima and Suga. Daichi looked absolutely mortified. He had no idea what Michimiya had seen or heard. Did she see the kiss on the cheek? Did she hear the beginning of my confession? Suga's expression was priceless, he looked done with the whole thing. He crossed his arms and tilted his head to the side.

Michimiya was busy talking to Daichi until she heard Terushima speak. "Mmh this is about to get messy". She looked confused. "What do you mean by that?" Suga facepalmed. Terushima didn't answer so she decided to ignore what he said. "Oh my god Suga! I haven't seen you since Saturday, are you okay?" Koushi wasn't even trying to mask his feelings at this point, he groaned in frustration. "I'm okay, thank you for asking" he tried to smile though. He had never felt this jealous and protective of Daichi.

Daichi was awfully quiet, observing the situation nervously. He was holding hands with Yui. "That's good! You had my poor Daichi worried for a while".
"Is that so? I'm sorry about that Daichi" Suga pouted and was now speaking with a slightly mocking tone, similar to the Michimiya's. Terushima was enjoying the moment a bit too much. "I need popcorn." Suga gave him a glare. "Baby~ why are you so quiet?" Daichi looked like he was ready to leave. "I'm just tired...that's all".

Suga's POV:

Michimiya was staring at me for some reason, and she was being really obvious. I started to feel uncomfortable. "Uh is there anything wrong with the way I look?" I crossed my arms, and she giggled. "No no, I just- you have hickeys on your neck..." At this point, Daichi had stopped holding Michimiya's hand and he looked like he was about to lose it. "How did that happen?" She was smirking. Little did she know DAICHI HAPPENED.  I had hickeys that HER BOYFRIEND kindly gave to me.

"Yeah, Daichi! How did it happen? Do you remember?" I'm aware I was being a bitch at the time but I was over it. I wanted Daichi for myself and I was so done. Daichi sighed and I could tell he was starting to lose his patience with me. Michimiya sensed some tension between us and she frowned.
"You guys are acting weird, why won't you tell me?"

Terushima wasn't helping at all either. "If you won't tell I gladly will" I wanted to slap him so bad.

And that's when I had the worst idea I had ever had.

"T-terushima! I told you not to leave marks b-babe"
I ran my hand through his hair slowly and then cupped his cheek. Terushima had absolutely no clue about what I was doing, he didn't complain though. "Yeah u-uh he's my-" I held his hand. "He's my boyfriend!" Johzenji's captain decided to take advantage of the situation, of course, so he kissed my jaw and pulled me closer. The worst part was that I had to pretend I liked it. "N-not here" I giggled and playfully nudged his arm.

I hate myself right now.

Daichi's POV:

What the fuck is he thinking?
Was that really necessary?
