Chapter 23: It all comes crumbling down

"Maybe he's bi?"

Daichi sighed and looked at Suga with an 'are you serious?' look on his face. The vice-captain shrugged and looked down. "Well, I don't know! At least I'm trying to make Asahi feel better, and it's also possible for Noya to like both boys and girls..." Daichi sighed. "But what are the chances of that being true?." Asahi had his brows furrowed and he shook his head. "I seriously don't want to get my hopes up...I'd rather just accept reality and move on".

Suga looked annoyed when Asahi said that. Seeing him down and with no hope made him get frustrated. "Gaaahhh! Stop being so negative!" he stood up and started to pace around his room, he was trying to think of a way he could help his friend. Daichi felt like he had already accepted the same thing Asahi did too. Which was the fact that Nishinoya was very unlikely to like him as more than friends.

However, he knew that Asahi didn't need someone else to be negative about things. He had enough with his own negativity. I need to be more supportive like Suga. "Now that I think about it...it may be unlikely that Noya is bi or that he likes you but it's not impossible. You don't have to give up right now if you haven't even tried..." Suga's thoughtful face turned into a huge smile. He ran towards Daichi and tackled him to the floor. "YES! THAT'S THE KIND OF THINKING I LIKE"

Asahi managed to smile, it wasn't a confident one but it was a smile that showed hope. "How will we find out if he's into me?" Daichi was looking up at Suga with a fond smile, then, he turned to look at Asahi. "I'll have to think about tha-"

"I KNOW!" Suga stood up and got on his bed, he started to jump on it in excitement. Asahi sat up in anticipation. "You have a plan?!" The vice-captain nodded and eventually settled down on the bed with his legs crossed. "So, I was thinking that maybe we should have a party with everyone in the Karasuno team on Friday and have a sleepover!" Daichi made an unamused face. "So...babysitting?"

Suga narrowed his eyes at Daichi and crossed his arms. "You made me babysit your dog for a whole day, you can't possibly complain." Daichi had no argument against that so he just stayed quiet. Asahi was excited already, just the thought of spending time with his energetic friend made him look forward to Friday. Suga stood up and sat next to Asahi. "Now listen carefully, Daichi and I will prepare everything for the party and we will help you on Friday to get time with Noya alone. Maybe prepare some games for the night too"

Daichi smiled and looked at Asahi. "It'll all go great as long as you're confident and relaxed". The ace nodded, it was the first time he felt like he may have a chance. "U-uhm what kind of uh games are you planning?" He suddenly felt nervous. Suga just smirked and shrugged. "You'll find out later on...now cheer up because you may get a date by Friday." Daichi felt happy and satisfied that they could help their friend and Suga felt the same way.

"Thank you, guys..." Asahi smiled and with that, their conversation about Friday's plan ended. They kept on watching the scary movie for about an hour until the three of them fell asleep. A couple of hours later, someone rang the bell of the house. Suga woke from his light sleep and stood up to go see who it was. Who's outside my house at 2 am? As he walked down the stairs he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and went outside. It was a really cold quiet night. When he opened the door, he saw none other than Terushima and Michimiya.

Suga's sleepiness completely wore off and his eyes widened. "U-uh hey, what are you guys doing here? It's 2 in the morning..." Michimiya looked like she'd been crying and Terushima had his usual knowing smirk. Before any of them could say anything Daichi rushed down the stairs and went outside where the rest of them were. "Suga why are you going out this la- Oh" Daichi definitely did not expect to see them there. Michimiya's heart clenched the moment she saw her boyfriend going out of Suga's house. Her voice had a hint of anger to it apart from sadness.

"O-oh you guys w-were sleeping together tonight?"

Suga tilted his head in confusion. "If by that you mean that he slept over with Asahi to watch a movie then yeah..." Daichi got worried when he saw Michimiya. "Are you okay?" She huffed and crossed her arms. "You're asking if I'm okay?" Daichi nodded. He was genuinely concerned. "W-well no I'm not okay! I always had my suspicions but they were confirmed by Terushima. You guys have feelings for each o-other." Suga froze and he felt his heart stop beating for a second. Daichi was mortified and he didn't know what to say. He couldn't deny what Michimiya said because it was completely true.

"B-but this is not why I came to Suga's house." She turned to look at Terushima, waiting for him to talk. Johzenji's captain sighed and crossed his arms. "Well we came here to warn you about something...because we don't want you to get hurt. I felt like you needed to know this so you think twice before dating your precious captain". His voice was full of fake concern and fake sympathy. Suga was now scared of what he was going to tell him.

"Wh-what do you mean? What is it?" He turned to look at Daichi for an answer but it was no use.

He was looking at the ground. Dead silent.
