Chapter 29: I'll take that as a yes

No one's POV:

October. The month in which leaves change and the weather shifts into a colder setting, all while everything at the same time turns cosier. It was Thursday after school and Daichi and Suga were sitting together in a cute cafe. It smelled of freshly baked bread, coffee, and warm tea spices, perfect for a relaxing romantic date. Unfortunately, though, the two boys were still pretty much single. It was awkward for them because all while they were in love with each other, they had to act like 'bros'. They were trying to act as they did before the messy past few days. That's what Suga had decided as the best thing for him, to stay friends with Daichi for a while, and his friend of course respected his decision.

The purpose of their gathering was to plan out the next days' party, but it was also an excuse for them to hang out more and order hot chocolate. They could have planned it through text but after everything they had gone through lately (good and bad) it had been hard for them to spend a lot of time away from each other. Especially when they had been close in a way that they had never been before. They couldn't stop thinking about holding the other close or kissing them.

Daichi and Suga had already decided that their friends should be arriving at 8 pm, following a sleepover. The entire team was invited and the reason for the event was basically to help Asahi get with Nishinoya, therefore they wanted to plan out a few games that they could play to push their two friends into romantic situations.

"Hmmm...What about-"

"I KNOW!" Suga interrupted Daichi. "What if we play 7 minutes in heaven?" the greyhaired boy had a mischievous smile on his face, he knew that that game would definitely make Noya and Asahi do something. Daichi laughed at his friends' outburst. "Hmm that's a good idea but-"

"But?" Suga raised a brow and leaned forward towards Daichi expectantly.

"It's going to be awkward for the others in the team, seven minutes in heaven is usually for people to...you know get it on. I dont want to be in a closet with Yamaguchi or Hinata."

Suga burst out laughing. "What the hell Daichi, the weirdest image just popped in my head."

The other boy just smiled, he loved the sound of Suga's laugh, it made him feel warm inside.

"Okay, okay it may be a little awkward but Im willing to go through that for Asahi and Im sure the rest of the team and you too."

Daichi looked at his friend with his usual confident smile. "Definetely" They were both now staring into each other's eyes. Suga blushed and looked away, making Daichi's smile widen.

They were interrupted by the waitress who was brining them their hot chocolates. "Here you go guys, enjoy" she smiled at them but the smile was more so directed towards Daichi. Suga immediately realized that the girl was interested in his best friend, she wouldn't leave and kept making small talk with him.

"You're so strong, do you practice any sports?" She lightly touched Daichi's arm. Daichi looked a bit lost but he smiled at her in a friendly way.

"Uh yeah, volleyball"

Suga had just stayed quiet throughout their entire conversation while sipping his hot cocoa slowly. He felt a sudden weird feeling in him. He wouldn't call it jealousy, it was more of a protectiveness. A feeling that he needed to let the girl know that the boy she was flirting with was already his.

"That's so hot! I bet your girlfriend loves that..."

Daichi Chuckled "I dont have a girlfriend-"

"Yeah he has a boyfriend"

Daichi froze for a second and turned to look at Suga. He was now holding his hand underneath the table. Sawamura squeezed it lightly and he broke into a soft smile and held eye contact with the greyhaired boy. "Yeah, I have a boyfriend..." Suga blushed once again and turned to look at the girl, who was now standing there awkwardly. She was speechless.

"Anyways, congratulations! Im gonna go back to work now" She spoke really fast and left quickly making Suga laugh quietly. Daichi shook his head in disbelief. "So...boyfriend huh?" Suga narrowed his eyes at his friend and took a sip of his drink, ignoring the question. Daichi was rubbing his finger lightly on Suga's hand, the one he was still holding.

Daichi was smirking at Suga. "Are we official now?"
"Sh-shut up" The boy rolled his eyes.

"I'll take that as a yes" Daichi laughed quietly and stood up forwards to plant a kiss on his forehead. Suga just smiled and looked away.

"Anyways, we should keep planning things out."

Daichi agreed and that's how the afternoon kept on going, their gathering had turned into a cute romantic date and they were left planning the games for the next day.

They had finally decided on seven minutes in heaven, truth or dare, hide and seek and at the end of the night a scary movie. While Suga and Daichi had ended up becoming an actual couple, they had yet to try and help their friend become one with his crush Nishinoya.
