Chapter 18: The cherry on top

Michimiya's POV:

I was honestly really happy for Suga. I had a feeling he had a thing for Daichi for a long time but I was wrong. I'm glad though, I can't imagine how painful it would be to fall for someone who doesn't like you and will likely never.

Daichi and Suga's boyfriend had to go back to play the last set so I just sat on the side of the training room. The game was intense. Terushima was a pretty good player and he looked like he was having fun. On the other hand, there was Daichi, who seemed tense and distracted. There was definitely something off with him.

Suga's POV:

I don't think there are enough words in the dictionary to explain how angry I felt. How did everything leed to me pretending I was dating Terushima?! I was tired of Daichi at this point. I have never felt anything but admiration and love towards him until now.

He was being a coward, a confusing COWARD.
This is not like him, what's wrong with him?
He has always tried to do the right thing.
Why are my feelings not in his list of priorities?
Does he not realize how much he's hurt me these past few days?

Does he not realize how much I'm in love with him?

After a few minutes of watching the game, my anger turned into sadness. I got filled with an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. I had absolutely no idea what to do in a situation like this.

I don't want to 'expose' Daichi, I don't want to hurt Michimiya and I most certainly don't want Terushima to touch me again.

Yamaguchi probably sensed that something was wrong. "Suga San? Are you okay?"
"Huh? Y-yeah I'm okay" I smiled at him and looked down. "Are you sure? Your eyes...you're tearing up. You've also been mumbling to yourself for a few minutes now and it's scary." My baby Yams looked so worried. I put my hand on his shoulder. "It's kind of a messy situation".

"Tell me about it. We have 15 minutes, do you think you can summarize it all in that time?"

"I'll manage"

Turns out Yamaguchi is a great listener. He never judged me, he asked a few question and he gave amazing advice in the end. A pretty simple one. "Speak to Daichi"

"You'll have to be alone. Let everyone leave and close up with him so you can have some privacy. Tell him everything you feel, from your anger to your sadness to your love for him and ask him to be clear with you."

"Thank you Yams...I'll let you know how it goes"
I smiled softly at him and gave him a quick hug to thank him. "Good luck Suga San"

Daichi's POV:

I was acting like a complete idiot. The reason I hadn't been truthful to myself and others was because I was afraid to hurt Michimiya. But I knew this mess had to stop because I'd hurt her even more if this continued. I also knew I had been hurting Suga. To be honest that's the thing that I will never be able to forgive myself for. The last thing I ever wanted was to make him hurt, I've been so selfish.

I could also tell he reached his limit with me. It wasn't fair he had to pretend to be with Terushima. It wasn't the sharpest idea he had ever had but I get he was under pressure and I knew he was doing that to save me from a really complicated situation.

God I really love him and I have to let him know as soon as possible as well as to break things up with Yui.

No one's POV:

The match had eventually come to an end. Karasuno had successfully won. Everyone was excited as well as exhausted, it had been a pretty hard match to play but they managed to succeed.

Terushima's POV:

"Hey Daichi! Why that face? Your team won". Although we lost, I was in a pretty good mood because of what had happened earlier with number 2. "You should be happy, your victory means I'm not allowed to get near Sug- ooooh! Wait a second! That rule doesn't apply anymore. I'm dating him now apparently" this was too funny, at the end of the day even if I lost I ended up winning too.

No one's POV:

Daichi's patience had gotten to an end. He grabbed Terushima by the shirt. "I swear to god if you do anything to him that he doesn't want-" He was gritting his teeth. "Woah woah calm down" Terushima was laughing. "What are you gonna do? Ask your girlfriend for help?" Johzenji's captain shoved Daichi away pretty harshly.

"Shut up!" Daichi then pushed him hard enough for him to fall. Terushima was having none of it. "Dude as far as I'm concerned YOU dug your own grave. If it wasn't for you being such a fucking coward this WOULDN'T have happened! They say I'm a player but you're no better than me" He then stood up and before any of them could punch the other, Suga stood between them.

"STOP ACTING LIKE FUCKING CHILDREN!"

Suga's POV:

I'm not quite sure what they were fighting about now but this was the cherry on top. A physical fight to end the wonderful day. Everyone in the training room didn't know what to do. Never would anyone ever imagine Daichi fighting with someone like this. The behavior was expected from Terushima but not him. Terushima looked at me and sighed. "Babe don't get involved in this fight, let me handle it"

"DONT CALL ME THAT"

To summarize it, Michimiya was confused. "I-I think I should leave...you guys need to figure things out" before Daichi could stop her she was gone.

No one's POV:

Suga sighed and crossed his arms. "I'm done with this, what happened now?" Terushima for the first time in the day actually looked pissed, he wasn't having fun anymore. "Ask your team captain! I'm sure he'll gladly give you an explanation. I'm out." Before Suga knew Terushima was already leaving with his team after saying goodbye to the rest of Karasuno.

Asahi's POV:

The entire team was worried. Never had they seen Daichi do anything like what he just did or Suga be so distant and moody in a day. So much had happened and we all deserved an explanation. "Guys...I don't think this is fair to any of us here. We're worried, what's with all this."

No ones's POV:

Everyone in the team had different perspectives as to what was going on. Tsukishima and Kageyama knew that Terushima was an asshole, especially to Suga. Yamaguchi knew exactly what was going on while Asahi only knew what happened behind the school and on Saturday. The rest of the team was clueless.

Nishinoya's POV:

All I wanted was to have a good time with the team as we always have had. "Guys come on! Just talk things out! Maybe we don't have to know every single detail of everything that's happening but at least try to fix the issue so we can be a whole team again" I grabbed my stuff and was about to head out the door. "I think you guys need to talk, I'll just leave and go get some meat buns. If any of you want to come you're welcomed to" My bro Tanaka agreed to all I said and decided to follow, as well as Hinata, Yamaguchi and surprisingly Tsukishima. Eventually, everyone ended up coming with me.
