Chapter 19: Beautiful angel

It was now pitch dark outside and Suga and Daichi were left alone in the training room. A few minutes had passed since everyone left and not a single word had been spoken from any of them. There was an awkward tense silence, not something they were used to having. Daichi was looking at the ground and his arms were crossed, while Suga was looking out the window, fiddling with his hands anxiously. Neither of them had an idea on how to start saying what they wanted to say to the other. It was just too much.

The time passed painfully slowly, and before Daichi could begin to speak, he heard a quiet sniff in Suga's direction. When he turned to look at his friend, his heart broke into a million pieces. He was crying. "Suga?" Daichi's voice was quiet but it still echoed in the empty room. "Why are you crying?" he was looking at Suga with worry in his eyes. Suga never cried. He was always happy and positive.

This is when he knew he really fucked up.

"P-please tell me th-this is not all in m-my head Daichi" his voice sounded completely broken.
"What are you talking about?"
"For a second I-I thought you liked me back"
Daichi tensed. "Like you back?"
"H-how can you be so dense to not understand how in love I am with y-you" Suga's lip was quivering and he was avoiding eye contact.

"Suga I-"

"Let m-me finish"

He took a deep shaky breath. "I feel like I'm going
i-insane, it sometimes feels like the feelings a-are mutual but then you suddenly start d-dating someone. You give m-me so many mixed signals and I-I can't take it anymore" Suga had his arms wrapped around his waist from the pain he felt in his stomach. "C-can I-I just ask you to b-be honest and clear with me for once? W-what do you actually feel Sawamura?"

Daichi found it hard to watch Suga cry. He was angry at himself. How did I ever let myself hurt the person I love the most. "The truth is, that I haven't been able to get you off my mind for the past month." Suga's eyes widened and his heart stopped for a second. "You want me to be one hundred percent honest with you? You drive me fucking insane Suga. In the best possible ways."

Daichi got closer to cup his cheeks, he then looked deep into his eyes. Their mouths were only a few centimeters away. Suga was speechless, he felt the need to pinch himself to see if the moment was a dream. He had also stopped shaking the second Daichi's fingertips touched his skin, they felt warm and soft against him. Suga only managed to say three words. "W-what about Yui..." his voice was weak and the sound got lost in the big training room. Daichi's fingertips sent tingles down his spine, he felt like he could melt in his touch forever.

"I thought that if I dated her, I may stop liking you, I was so stupid to think that would actually help...I'm planning on breaking up with her tomorrow" As Daichi spoke, his voice trailed off a bit, he felt himself get lost in Suga's eyes. He was still cupping his cheeks and the closeness was sending him to the edge, it was addictive to have Suga so near.

Suga kept staring at Daichi's lips once every two seconds. "I didn't know you could be such an idiot" Daichi broke into a soft smile. "You're so beautiful Koushi, did you know that?" At that moment, they both felt like they were the only people in the world and that the only thing that mattered was that they were together, embracing each other. Suga shook his head slightly, it was now incredibly obvious that he was staring at Daichi's lips.

Daichi's thumb was softly rubbing Suga's temple as they were speaking. And as if on cue, both boys leaned in slowly until their lips connected. It was a soft kiss, full of tenderness and pure love. Suga was blushing lightly as he felt his legs turn to jelly. Daichi felt like he was in heaven and Suga was of course, his beautiful angel.
