Feeling Betrayed Yet?

One of the news broadcasts was going to be starting soon, so Shigaraki turned the TV screen on again. On the TV were the principal, Aizawa and one other teacher I didn't know. I couldn't believe that man was on Tv, he hates being the center of attention. "We deeply apologize for the incident that allowed harm to come to 27 first years of the hero course because of our unpreparedness. We apologize for causing unease in society due to our negligence in properly defending ourselves as a place of learning. We are truly sorry."

I watched as they bowed and the principle answered questions about upping the defense and security of the school. It was obvious how the people were going to react, seeing as UA had already been attacked four times in a matter of months. Shigaraki turned the screen off before we could finish watching the broadcast. "It's so strange... Why are the heroes being criticized? The way they were dealing with things was just a little off the mark. Is it because it's their job to protect? Everyone makes a mistake or two. Are they supposed to be perfect? Modern-day heroes are so uptight. Don't you think, Bakugo, (Y/n)?"

All I could do was nod. I did agree on that much, it was just a question of how they were going to handle the backlash. "Once heroes receive compensation to protect people, they aren't heroes anymore. That is Stain's teaching." Lizard man... he really likes Stain. Does he understand what that man was?

Shigaraki continued. "The strange system of transforming people's lives into money or glory... The society that sticks tight to those rules... The citizens who blame the losers rather than encourage them... Our fight is to question: What is a hero? What is justice? Is society truly just? We'll have everyone thinking about it. We're planning on winning. You like winning, too, right?" What was Bakugou going to do with that kind of information? Being asked the same questions I had been looking for an answer too since starting at UA. "Dabi, release his restraints."

Dabi just turned back to face us, watching as my hands rested on Shigaraki's arm as I continued to hide behind him. "Huh? This guy's gonna fight, you know."

As usual, Shigaraki didn't even seem to mind. "It's fine. We need to treat him like an equal, since we're scouting him. Isn't that right, (Y/n)?" His hand pulled me forward, causing me to stumble before pulling me against him. His hand stroking my hair, I just stared at the floor. "Besides, you can tell if you'll win or not if you fight in this situation, right, UA student?"

Dabi turned to the man in the skin tight black suit. "Twice, you do it."

He seemed shocked. "What, me? No way." He was just told again to do it. "Man... " Masked man apologized for the forceful methods that were used. Explaining that we were not a mob just trying to commit crimes. I believed that about some of them. Still, it was no accident that they went after Bakugou.

Letting me go, Shigaraki moved to stand from his seat. "Even though our situations differ, everyone here has been restricted and suffered because of people, rules, and heroes... I'm sure you also-" And as expected, Bakugou made a dash, knocking twice back. He went in to blast Shigaraki but I paused time and moved him out of the way. The blast hit my back and knocked the hand off of Shigaraki's face.

Shigaraki was holding me up, as I clutched at his black shirt. "I listened quietly to your endless talking... Idiots can't get to the point, so they're always talking for a long time. Basically, you mean, 'We wanna harass people, so please join us,' right? Don't bother. I want to win like All Might. No matter what anyone says, that will never change!"

All I could do was breathe heavily, my back burning with the force of the explosion Bakugou used. Shigaraki on the other hand was looking between myself and the hand. "Father... (Y/n)..." Someone turned the TV back on showing that the conference was still running.
