Phase of a Fight

Eri was lying in her bed, her room dark as night when someone opened the door. She sat up immediately to see who it was. "Eri... It's okay, I'm just checking to see if you're still here. You haven't touched your toys at all. And I bought all these for you, too. You can let your guard down a little." The man walked deeper into her room as he spoke. Stopping beside her, he patted her head. "I'm not scary, see? Is there anything you want?"

To that, the girl looked off to the side. "(Y/n)... I want to see her, even if she's sick. I'll behave, and not leave her room unless told. I... just want to be with her."

That took the man by surprise. Taking a second, he thought. "I see. I'll talk to Overhaul and see if he will let you see her." Overhaul had assigned him to be her new caretaker. He couldn't let her feel like running away. After all, the only person the girl trusted was currently no better than a vegetable at the moment. As he walked down the hall, he tried to decide how he was going to ask Overhaul for permission.

Laying back down on her bed, Eri started thinking. She was remembering how Midoriya treated her. She thought his hands were kind. They reminded her of (Y/n), how she would always sit to play with her. Even if she kept a fairly neutral expression, she was always gentle. All she wanted was to be treated like that again, to see (Y/n) again.

It didn't matter if she couldn't move, or talk. Just being near her would be enough. As the man walked into Overhaul's office, it grew silent. "So... what is it?"

Taking a deep breath, the man thought of how he was going to phrase it. "She wants (l/n) back sir. She didn't care how sick she was, just being by her side was going to be enough. It might not be a bad idea... to let her see the condition the girl is in. Especially if it makes her think twice about leaving. After all, it was only after the girl left that she returned in such a state."

Kai paused in his cleaning. "Fine. Move (Y/n) and her supplies into Eri's room. If it keeps her from running, then it can't be helped." With a single nod, he set out to have everything prepared. Eri's room was changed to one slightly larger and had a second door able to be accessed by medical staff when necessary. Those staff were as usual supposed to observe (Y/n)'s condition and change the bags when necessary.

Once the room was set up, (Y/n) was moved into it first before they set about moving Eri's room as well. As soon as Eri was taken into the room, she rushed to (Y/n)'s side before pulling a chair closer to the bedside. Using it like a stool, she crawled into the bed next to the sleeping girl. "(Y/n)... it's okay... I'm here too, and I won't leave you like everyone else does. I'll stay here, no matter what, okay?"

For just a moment, (Y/n) managed to peel her eyes open and turn her head. Seeing Eri lying beside her, she turned onto her side and placed her arm over the girl. Eri curled up against (Y/n) just before she passed out once again. She managed to say something for Eri to hear. "It's okay... I'm still... right here... Eri. I... missed... you." With those words, her eyes closed, but her breathing seemed to be doing better comparatively.

By the second day of injections, (Y/n) was able to stay awake for longer periods of time and hold full conversations. Whatever that drug was that Shigaraki had given Kai seemed to be working. At night, Eri slept through the night, right by (Y/n)'s side. Her bed remained untouched. Not that anyone seemed to mind. After all, so long as the girl was content enough, it didn't matter where she slept.

During that time, Nighteye had managed to catch something from the new caretaker. Glimpses of where Eri was. What he saw was the man bringing her toys,but she just hid in someone's arms. The person was lying on a bed, tubes going from their arm to bags hanging on a metal rod with monitors in the background. The person that Eri was hiding behind was (Y/n) and she was clearly not doing well. All they had left to do was enter the building having already taken everything else into account.
