Time Stamp: Shoto x Reader

The Undead

So internships were finally over, and everything seemed like it was going to go back to normal. At least that was what I was hoping would happen. Based off of what I could tell over the next few sentances, that was not going to be the case. "It's a little sudden, but for our next Hero exercise four Hero-class students from Isami High School will be joining us as special guests."

Of course that wasn't the issue. The issue was how crazy the men went seeing the woman with white hair and glasses. Aizawa used his quirk to settle everyone down again. The students introduced themselves. The white haired girl was Sekigai, Kashiko followed by the male, whose name was Tadan, Dadan. Interesting name if a little repedative. This was followed by a gloomy looking man, Fujimi... just Fujimi.

It was obvious he and Bakugou were going to cause problems. The last one to introduce herself was a snake female. She knew the frog gril in our class. Her last name... Mongoose. When the bell wen't off we went to get changed into our costumes and made our way to Ground Omega. "Alright, is everyone here? Today's hero excercise will be observed by me and one more person."

From the sky, as per usual came All Might. "I HAVE- like a special guest- Arrived!" I sighed. This guy was really rather dramatic and it got very tiring very quickly. "So, about our little exercise... we're going to have you go all through some survival training!" What was that even supposed to mean? "Let me explain! With four students per team, aside from miss (L/n) who will be a team by herself, and seven teams over all you will start at the predetermined positions that we have chosen! (L/n) I hope you realize this is because of your distinct advantage of time minipulation over the other students." I gave a nod. It usually happened like this anyway. "There is but one objective. To survive. To run or to fight, anything goes. Victory will go to the last surviving team."

Aizawa explained a little more. "If you run into another team and manage to bind your opponents with this Capture Tapeyou can make them combat ineffective. "(L/n), we will release the restraints so you can use ur ability as much as you need for the allotted five seconds. This is so we can keep your ability handycaped for the other students."

I nodded, I understood the reasoning behind it. I would just win outright otherwise. Once teams were anounced and deployed, I stood in the center of the field. I just needed to decide how I wanted to do this. I needed to stratagize the best way to effectivly take down each team without leaving myself in the open. Setting myself up in the trees and creating distractions was going to be my best option.

Pulling my mask up to cover my face, I had to figure out the distractions. Not that Bakugou didn't have that already covered. He was probably running straight ahead without thought of his partners. That said, I also needed to be careful about the members of the class who were able to see/hear any movements. Octo man, ear plug girl and bird man were the three that came to mind.

That said the glint of Missiles got me moving. I wasn't really in to mood to fight anyone yet. I was a little to close to where those landed meaning Bakugou was also closer than I thought. The Missiles landed close to where I thought I had last heard explosions coming from. As I ran, I nooted a strange fog licking at my heals as another explosion sounded behind me.

Deciding that it could only be further trouble I really didn't want to test my luck. I didn't really know how gas quirks worked and wasn't sure if they would fall under physical or bodily changing quirks. Pausing time I ran far enough away that I could get onto the rock faces without being caught up in it. As I ran along a side, Todoroki caught up with me. "(L/n), do you know what's up with that gas? Were you caught up in it?"

I shook my head. "Not a clue, Todoroki. I barely managed to get away from it myself. Not that I am certain what it would do even if I were to have been caught up in it." He nodded. "Truce?"

He looked back, watching the gas settle over the trees. "Yeah, truce." A few moments later we also ran into Midoriya who we also called a truce with. Midoriya didn't really know what it did eaither, but figured it was from one of the guest students.

That was when everyone stopped running and looked back. From the trees came our classmates. I remember seeing Zombie movies when I was living with Shigaraki.. And to be quite honest.. They moved around much like these students were. Even floaty girl seemed to pause in her calling out to them. My eyes landed on Bakugou first. His Ash blonde hair turning dull, and even his skin was an off grey, green color. "Z-Zombies!"

I backed away slightly seeing what they looked like. The man who was responcible for it came walking over to us laughing. "What do you think of my Quirk? UA isn't all that much- OHHO MAH GAAWD."

Bakugou was still against that guy even as a Zombie. Crazy boom boom boy. I still couldn't believe that guy was effected by his own quirk. "Well, I know one thing... that gas wouldn't effect me, but I don't know about a bite. I personally don't really want to test that theory. That said, I might be able to revert them back to normal."

To that I looked to Todoroki. He nodded as if he understood my plan. "Then I'll-" Todoroki used his ice to freeze everyone in place. Once I was certain someone was stuck in ice, I froze time getting closer to them and activating the second part of my quirk. Rewind should probably be able to free them from the virus. It should turn them back into their previous state before the virus came in contact with them.

What ended up happening was while my scales glowed and time resumed the zombies freed themselves and one came up behind me. Just as I reversed the effects of the person I was touching. "(L/n) look out!" I turned my head just as Red rocky man bit my shoulder. I closed my eyes expecting something to happen but when I opened them back up, the zombie seemed as confused as I was. My eyes moving to the zombie I had freed before watching them turn back into a Zombie.

I froze time and ran. "Nope, just run! The good news is it doesn't work on me at all. The bad news... I'm not un capped enough to make a difference. Talk about unfair!" Sliding down the rock face, we made our way into a cave, where Midoriya had Todoroki freeze up the opening. Funny thing was... the Zombies didn't bother a very strange thin man either... perhaps he was a Zombie as well?

The girls asked Midoriya how most Zombie movies ended and they didn't go well. Bad endings all around, there was no winning in a Zombie apocolipse unless you had my quirk... apparently. Not that it mattered, Seconds later the zombies were trying to break in. "They're here. We'll be overrun if this continues."

That was when Midoriya had an idea. "(L/n).. If I break off those bindings... can you undo the zombification on all of them?"

It was an idea. "Probably, because then I could hold Time Stop for longer and it would allow me to move freely. The problem is, someone would have to create an opening."

He nodded. "Todoroki, get ready to use your flames. You two stay back."

Todoroki got the idea. "A frontal attack."

Midoriya nodded. "If we can't fall back, then we can only go forwards! I'll make an opening to get (Y/n) out, and once its open she is going to undo the virus. Ready?" With a nod, I held out my arms. Watching Midoriya break off the restraints there. The neck one remained because if I lost control, I would at least need that to deliver the sedative.

Once I waas freed slightly, Todoroki and I shared a nod. I hated my ability sometimes, but this was one of the few times I was glad to have it. Todoroki fired off his flames and Midoriya shot off the wall, breaking the ice. I waited two seconds before stopping time and walking out, my scales glowing gold. Everyone was already back to normal and falling from the sky.

I let time resume and the light fade as I watched Bakugou slam into Midoriya. "What a huge mess..." I sighed out as the others left the cave entrance after the explosion went off.

Todoroki blinked, setting a hand on my shoulder. "That quirk of yours really is something. Just... give us a warning if something like this happens next time. I'll walk you back to Aizawa and explain why the bracelets are off so you don't get into trouble. Sound good?"

I gave him a smile. "Of course!"
