Time Stamp: Shoto x Reader

A Problem

When Kai returned to his office, Chrono was waiting for him with Eri. They walked down the halls until they reached the testing room. "Eri, don't disobey me anymore. You and (Y/n) are the crux of my plan." He motioned the pair to enter the room. "Please, don't make me get my hands dirty." That was when the shortest member of their little group came in.

Holding the phone to his ear, he got Kai's attention. "Overhaul, there's a call for you. It's from Shigaraki, from the League of Villains. He said he'd give you his answer from the other day..." Meanwhile, Midoriya returned to UA for his classes. He thought about what happened, before turning to stand. He wanted to speak with Todoroki.

Stopping before the peppermint hair colored boy's desk, his hands clenched into fists. "Say... Todoroki... have you ever seen what was under (Y/n)'s bandages?" Todoroki paused in his riffeling. He gave a slight nod in reply. "Did she... did she ever tell you the name of the man who raised her?"

Taking a breath, Todoroki spoke carefully. "Underneath the bandages she hides a mutation from her quirk. They are silver scales, the scales... are kind of... wispy perhaps would be the best way to explain it. They look as if they're moving or shifting in design. I think she said it comes from her Time Warp because they just seem... out of time with everything around her. As for the name of the person who raised her, I remember her bout to say something, but stopping mid sentence. She said 'Ka-'.

"One other thing I know about her, is that her ability is like mine. A quirk marriage. Her father was from some group that she called the Shie Hassaikai. He gave her the quirk Rewind, her mother gave her the Time Loop." He paused trying to think about if she ever said anything else, even just in passing when her guard was down. "She said she was sick... sick with a plague that didn't have a cure. It almost seemed like she was quoting someone else when she said that to be honest."

Midoriya nodded. "Thanks. That's all I needed to know." With those words he returned to his seat before class started. The entire day he was having trouble getting through his classes. When the end of the day came around, Midoriya turned to All Might. He wanted to know everything about what happened as All Might's successor. How he and Nighteye departed because of a difference in opinion.

From what Midoriya found out... Nighteye said All Might was either going to die that year or the next. The kid wasn't taking it well at all. "Young Midoriya, you know, when I heard the prediction, I accepted it pretty readily. If I could see the finish line- the end- then I'd run until then. When I fought All for One, I thought that was the finish line. But you were there. You-- timid, quirkless you- and all the days we spent together affected me. And those days whispered to me, telling me to live. And then, your mother told me to live and protect and raise you! After all this time, I'm going to fight. You changed me! I will live! I will twist fate and anything else into the shape I want with these arms!"

Midoriya was going to fight that future where All Might died, so that he could live. That he would twist fate with him. As this was occurring, Kai was meeting up with Shigaraki. Taking a seat in one of the office chairs, Kai wanted as his door opened. "What a drab office." Shigaraki was wearing a single hand on his face with his usual black hoodie.

Kai just shrugged it off. "I dislike disorderly layouts."

Shigaraki still wasn't a fan and was rather irritated in fact. "I was made to walk in circles underground for thirty minutes. I feel like an ant! What's up with a yakuza's house, anyway?" Pulling the hood from his head, Shigaraki took in his surroundings.

Kai explained what it was. "We don't know who's watching or from where, nor do we know what our guests are thinking. A number of underground routes lead here. This reception room is also one of our hidden underground rooms."
