Ariana's pov
" What are you doing?" I said angrily.
" What does it look like I am doing?" He replied with a smile on his face.
Why did he enjoy frustrating me?
" But we have to solve this together. The competition is tomorrow." I folded my arms as the smile on his face became wider. He dropped the cupcake in his hand and turned to me, folding his legs on the floor.
" And so what? I can't let us fail." He said proudly.
" You would be shocked when someone would kick you out of the stage." I said trying to stand up from the ground but he dragged me back.
" I have told you to stop doing that."
" Why do you look pretty in that angry expression?"
" What? Are you trying to frustrate me even more?"
" Ah! You are frustrated. " He threw his head back laughing like a kid.
What was so funny?
" Stop laughing. Nothing is funny." I glared at him.
" Okay, i would stop but on one condition."
" What?"
" I am not in the mood to read. I wanna make something for you." He said with a smile.
Did he think I came to cook with him?
" No! We are here to solve mathematics."
" If you over stress yourself in the name of practice, you would become dumb. Effort wasted." He said and dragged me up from the ground.
" What would you do now?" I frowned as he dragged me down the spiral stairs.
" I remember promising to make something for you. I think it was related to chocolate." He said with a smirk on his face. I remembered that day too. He had a chocolate terrine with him and just when he said it, I told myself it would never happen.
Guess I was not determined enough. He probably knew what I was thinking then.
" I am not hungry." I said sitting on a stool in the kitchen.
" Liar. Saw the way you were looking at my cupcake."
" In disgust. You forgot to add." I had a fake smile on my face which turned back to a frown.
" The disgusting look was cool too so I didn't take note." He smiled and placed a bottle of rum on the slab.
" Do you drink that thing?"
" Yeah. Most times, when you tell me to." He replied without taking his eyes off the cream he was whipping in a bowl. He looked serious.
" I have never told you to take rum." I frowned as he just chuckled.
I looked at the bowl in his hand. I was not fond of just sitting in a kitchen. It is like my second favourite room in a house. I felt uncomfortable like I needed to lay my hands on something. I looked around the large room.
" Where are the chestnuts?" I asked him.
" What do you need it for?"
" I want to throw it at you. Please hand it over." I said sarcastically which made him roll his eyes.
" Over there." He pointed to a small tray on another slab at the other end of the kitchen.
How did I not see that. Disadvantages of an extra large kitchen. I walked to the bowl and took a few chestnuts. I could feel his eyes on me.
