It's getting dark and after dinner everyone has to get some sleep. But when miss Bustier, miss Mendeleiev and mister Damocles leave for their own tent, the boys secretly move towards the tent where the girls are.
"Hey everyone." Adrien says, entering first. He's followed by Nino, Kim, Ivan and soon, the whole class is hanging around in the girls tent. Everyone is talking with everyone, even Sabrina joins the fun, Chloé is the only exception. She is sitting alone, she isn't even trying to get Adrien's attention.
"We should ask Chloé to come sit with us." Marinette offers, she may hate Chloé, but she also thinks Tikki is right; she has to try to make Chloé a better person.
"Are you kidding me? She'll ruin all the fun!" Alya says, raising an eyebrow.
"The whole reason we're on this field trip is to reconnect with each other, which also means we have to reconnect with Chloé."
"Marinette is right, I'll ask Chloé to come." Adrien says, knowing he's the only one Chloé might listen to.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." Alya says, she obviously doesn't like the idea of hanging out with Chloé, like everyone.
After a few minutes of Adrien and Chloé talking, they both join the rest of them. Adrien sits down next to Nino and Chloé sits down on the other side of Adrien. The silence is awkward, no one wants to talk with Chloé in their midst, it annoys Marinette.
"Why don't we play a game?" She offers.
"Such as?" Alya asks her.
"I don't know, perhaps something like truth or dare."
"I'll start! Alix, truth or dare?" Kim shouts, not waiting for anyone's opinion.
Alix fake smiles, she doesn't like those kind of games "dare."
"I dare you to sing everything you want to say for the next three minutes."
"Are you kidding me?!" She asks annoyed, singing- that's another thing she doesn't like.
"What did you say? I didn't hear you sing." Kim teases.
"Ugh- fine." She says in a singing tone.
"Rose, truth or dare?" Alix sings.
"Truth." Rose answers "If you were stuck in an elevator for hours, who would you want to be with you from this class?" Rose chuckles, she likes the singing Alix.
"Juleka." She answers honestly, everyone knows Juleka and Rose like each other, even the dense Adrien is aware it.
"Max, truth or dare?"
"I don't do those kind of games as it, statistically speaking, always ends in someone getting upset."
"C'mon, let's just have a bit of fun." Everyone starts encouraging Max to join.
"Fine, Truth."
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's a typical Rose question
"I want to do something technical, probably build robots."
"That's amazing! Now you can choose anyone you'd like."
"Okay... Ivan, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"If 9999=4, 8888=8, 1816=6, 1212=0, then what is 1919?"
"Dude, that's not how the game works, and I don't think anyone knows that answer." Nino comments.
"I do! The answer is 4. But I'll ask an easier question.. what is four times six." Everyone starts laughing, but they refuse to tell him again that's not a valid question so Ivan simply answers "24."
"Nino, truth or dare?"
"Dare dude."
"Give your headphones to someone of your choice for the rest of the day."
"Fine, I'm sure Adrien my dude can keep them safe for me." Nino says, giving Adrien his headphones.
"Alya, truth or dare."
"Dare."
"Kiss me." Nino says with a smile.
"That was smooth, mister." Alya says laughing, pressing a kiss on Nino's cheek.
"My turn! Adrien, truth or dare."
Adrien has never played a game like this before, so he decides to play it safe. All easy tasks and questions have been when someone answered 'Truth' so he will too. "Truth."
"If you have to kiss anyone in this class, who would it be?" Everyone holds their breath. While most of them hope the answer is 'Marinette', others, such as Chloé, wish he answers anyone but her.
"What? I don't know! Why does everyone get an easy question except me?" Adrien asks, turning red. He is in love with Ladybug, not with someone in this room. Yet, the way Marinette acted earlier today; protecting him without hesitation and ignoring the risks of hurting herself, he might actually be catching feelings for the bluenette. But saying her name would be ridiculous, she is just a friend, it would make things awkward between them.
"I honestly don't know, can I still choose dare?"
"Of course you can. I dare you to kiss Marinette." Marinette turns as red as her Ladybug suit and Adrien starts to blush too, just a tiny bit less. Everyone stares at the two of them, no one dares to take a breath as they might miss the moment they were all waiting for.
"Only if Marinette is okay with it. I don't want to make you uncomfortable." Adrien says, looking Marinette right in the eyes. She tries to tell him she's okay with it, but can't seem to say a single word.
"Of course she's okay with it, right Marinette?" Alya pushes. Marinette can only nod, secretly wishing this wasn't happening right now. But if it was a dream, she would never want it to stop.
Adrien and Marinette move closer to each other, their lips are about to touch, yet it has to be disturbed. Not by Chloé, as everyone had expected, but by miss Mendeleiev.
"Everyone return to your own tent immediately, if I see anyone else in a tent other than their own, I'll make sure you get sent home right away." She doesn't have to say that twice, all boys hurry to their own tent as the girls stay in theirs.
Marinette hasn't moved yet. She was so close to kissing Adrien, yet so far away. Maybe next time it'll work out. Right now, she has to get some sleep as tomorrow. Though she's unaware of it, she is going to face more dangers and fears than she had to face today.
