The next day, Adrien wakes up with a lot of pain in his back. Plagg keeps telling him he should do something about it or at least tell Ladybug, but Adrien refuses. He cares too much about his Lady to bother her with something this small. He simply ignores the fact that Ladybug cares about him too.

Adrien gets dropped off at school by his bodyguard. He does his best to keep the pain a secret, and so far no one seems to notice.

He isn't paying attention to where he's walking and — with Marinette being Marinette — they bump right into each other. Adrien immediately grabs towards his back, failing to show it doesn't hurt.

"I'm so sorry. Is everything okay? What's wrong with your back? I didn't hurt you, did I? I'm so so sorry Adrien." Marinette stumbles over her words.

"No need to apologise, Marinette. I was the one who didn't watch where I was going." They stare into each other's eyes longer than necessary, but break up their looks as soon as the bell rings. Together, they walk towards the classroom.

As they sit down in their seats, miss Medeleiev announces the start of the class. As always, Tikki and Plagg secretly leave the bags of their owners to catch up with each other.

"Hey sugar cube."

"Plagg, I already told you to not call me that! But hi."

"So, Chat Noir and Ladybug sure took their time after Lady WiFi attacked, I'm still hungry because of the lack of cheese back then."

Tikki simply ignores his comment "How's Chat doing? His injury seemed pretty bad." Tikki asks, a little concerned.

Plagg sighs, "He's hurt pretty badly but he refuses to tell anyone."

"Why won't he tell Ladybug? She would do anything for him!"

"That's exactly the reason why he won't tell her. In his opinion, Ladybug is already busy enough being the new guardian."

"Ladybug won't mind, he should tell her!"

"He won't, he's too stubborn." Plagg says, he cares so much about Adrien, seeing him in pain like this is hard on both of them.

"Ladybug is stubborn too, you know." Tikki starts. "She thinks she has to carry all this responsibility on her own. She slowly separates herself from the world, I'm worried about her. I'm afraid I won't be able to cheer her up someday soon. She's going to break eventually."

"Don't you always say Ladybug is the best Ladybug you've ever served?"

"She is! She's the best Ladybug ever, a very strong miraculous holder too and I'm certain Master Fu did the right thing to give the miraculous box to her. Yet, she's only fifteen, she had this huge plan of becoming a fashion designer but now she has her whole life planned out for her. It's not fair."

"That's another way to put it, it sounds complicated. I'd much rather stick with cheese." Plagg says.

'He'll never change' Tikki thinks while returning to Marinette's purse. Plagg follows her lead and makes his way to Adriens bag to take a bite out of his stinky camembert cheese.

After school, Adrien gets picked up by his bodyguard to go to fencing. He's glad he's seeing Kagami again, yet he's afraid to fence with this pain in his back.

When he arrives in the fencing hall, Kagami is already waiting for him in her red fencing suit.
"Hi Adrien." She says, pressing a small kiss on his cheek. He knows Kagami is in love with him, he just isn't sure whether those feelings are mutual.

While fencing, the only thing Adrien focuses on is not showing he's hurt, since he doesn't want to answer any questions. Of course, Kagami notices Adrien isn't fencing as good today as he usually fences, but she thinks he's just having an off day.

When they're done, Kagami approaches him. "Is something wrong, Adrien?"

"No, why?" Dumb question, everyone noticed he had an off day, even he did.

"It looks like you have something on your mind. You can tell me."

He knows he can't, so he refuses. "I'm fine, just tired. I'll see you next training." He walls back to his car parked outside. He just can't stop thinking about what she said, and what Plagg has been saying all day. He should tell someone, but he can't tell Ladybug. He looks outside while thinking who would listen to him when he passes a familiar bakery, he knows someone who is willing to listen to him. This night, a certain princess is gonna get a visit from a black cat.

At the same time, Marinette walks home. She has no intentions of staying at school and studying with friends. Besides, she promised to feed the kwamis in the miracle box. Of course, it's not necessary to feed them as they only get hungry when they use their powers, but she remembers Tikki saying how impressed they are with the outside world. So every once in a while, she lets them out, under the condition that they stay in her room and make as less noise as possible.

As she opens the miracle box, a lot of kwami's fly out: Wayzz, Trixx, Pollen, Mullo, Sass, Longg and more. They all greet Marinette, she greets them back. "You can do anything you want, as long as you stay in my room and don't make a big mess." She tells them, before leaving to get the macaroons she made this morning. Her parents aren't home, so they won't question where she needs this many macaroons for.

Back upstairs, she gives every kwami one macaroon. They talk a lot and laugh, it's this moment where Marinette doesn't feel any pressure of being Ladybug or the guardian. Unfortunately, that moment is gone as fast as it appeared when she hears someone landing on her balcony. She opens the miracle box and all kwamis without an owner return. She closes the miracle box and hides it in the gramophone, then she walks to her balcony to see a black cat sitting on the fence.
