Ladybug leaves Bunnyx and Lila behind as she follows HawkMoth as quickly as she can.

"Chat Noir!" She shouts, trying to reach him, but HawkMoth is fast. She hears her earrings beep, one minute left, she has to hurry! She tries to reach him again, but fails when HawkMoth makes a fast turn left. Ladybug falls onto the ground as she was too late to swing her yo-yo to her left, but she can't give up. She stands up, tears stinging in her eyes, she can't lose her partner.

She swings her yo-yo again and lands on top of the roof where she saw HawkMoth last, he's gone now, nowhere to be seen. The tears she was trying to hold back are now flooding over her face, it can't end like this, she has to find him! She swings her yo-yo again, she's prepared to search all of Paris if that's what it takes!

"Chat Noir?!" She shouts one last time, hoping he would react even though she knows he's unconscious and out of her reach.

As she swings over the streets of Paris, searching for her partner, her earrings start beeping again and without a chance of getting to the ground safely, she detransforms mid-air. She lands in an uncomfortable position and hurts her ankle in the proces. She's lucky all of Paris was hiding inside and no one has seen her detransform. Marinette can't seem to move, she sits frozen still in the small alley where she landed, she doesn't care about her ankle and she doesn't care if anyone did see her, she only cares about Chat Noir, how could she let this happen?
The mirror she got from her lucky charm had a bigger purpose than defeating Volpina. And she failed to see that.

"It's not your fault." Tikki says, trying to comfort her owner, but she knows it's no use, she knew Marinette was gonna break one day and this event caused it.

Marinette doesn't react, she can't. She can't move, she can't talk, all she can do is sit and cry, thinking about how important Chat was to her, how his lame jokes and puns made her laugh, even though she didn't always show it, how his smile made her heart feel warm, how he always tried to cheer her up, as Ladybug or Marinette. How they kissed each other a few weeks back, how she liked it, she liked him.

"I love him." She only realised it now that she's too late to tell him, she loves Chat Noir and it has been blinded by her love for Adrien, she's so oblivious, she should have told him!

"You'll safe him, I know you will. Then you can tell him everything you want, you just have to be patient and don't rush." Tikki says, Marinette puts on a fake smile, she knows there's no way to find Chat, because she hasn't come a step closer to knowing HawkMoth's identity or hideout and Chat is most likely in that exact place right now.

After sitting in that alley for who knows how long, Marinette finally has to courage to stand up. The sky is dark and rain is falling down. Her ankle hurts, her whole body is shaking, but she doesn't really care. She has to get home before her parents get worried, if they aren't already. She stumbles through the streets, the raindrops don't seem to hit her, maybe she just doesn't feel them. She can only think of Chat, his identity must have been revealed by now and his miraculous is most likely taken away. He's defenceless and he has no way of communicating with Ladybug. Is he scared? Does he stay strong? Does he know where he is? Does he know HawkMoth's identity? Is there any way for him to communicate with Ladybug or is there even a possibility that Ladybug can find him? She doesn't know the answers to any of them and she doubts if she'll ever know. All she knows now is that she has to get home, get the taken miraculouses back in the miracle box and think of a way to save Chat. She'll fetch Rena Rouge's and Carapace's miraculouses tomorrow.

Marinette is all wet from the rain that her tears don't show, but she can finally see the lights from the bakery.

In the secret hideout hidden in the Agreste Mansion, Adrien wakes up to see he's in a small cel. He can't recall much from what happened, the last thing he remembers is using is cataclysm on Volpina's necklace. Adrien looks around, he doesn't recognise the place he's in, but he does know he's locked up somewhere far away from the outside world.

"Plagg, claws out." He says, ready to transform, but he stays in his own clothes. It's up until then when he notices his ring is missing from his hand and he starts to worry. Adrien walks up to the bars of the cel and takes in everything he can see. It's dark but he can see a roof in some sort of butterfly shape. The realisation hits him hard: he's been captured by HawkMoth, how's he supposed to get out of this situation alive?

Good news: I will start uploading a chapter each day now because I completed writing the story yesterday!
