Plagg is watching from afar, he knows he promised Adrien to keep the miraculous safe, but he can't just watch and see another miraculous getting taken when he could've done something.
"Let her go." Adrien shouts, running towards HawkMoth and trying to get Ladybug to escape, but without powers and health, he's no match for HawkMoth.
"Stay away, kid, or I might have to hurt you too." HawkMoth says.
"How dare you." Ladybug manages to speak through her pain, which cause HawkMoth and Adrien to look up at her.
"What now?" HawkMoth speaks.
"Are you forgetting who you're fighting? I sure hope you remember you just threatened to hurt your son, what kind of dad are you?!"
Everything falls to silence.
"What do you mean?" Adrien asks Ladybug.
"I'm so sorry you had to find out this way, Adrien, but HawkMoth's real identity is Gabriel Agreste." Ladybug says, she feels bad for Adrien, but he had to find out eventually. Adrien eyes start to fill up with tears and disbelief, he knew his dad was hiding something and he knew he hasn't been the dad he deserved, but he never imagined that he was HawkMoth.
"Are you okay?" Ladybug asks, she's still pinned to the wall by HawkMoth with no way to escape, but she doesn't care about that, she only cares about her partner who seems to be unable to talk.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just glad I know." He whispers. Anger, sadness and confusion is bottling up inside him. If they weren't fighting HawkMoth right now, he's sure he'd be akumatised.
"Adrien, I know this seems bad, but I can explain why I'm doing this, it's because-" HawkMoth starts, but Adrien interrupts him;
"I don't wanna hear your lame excuses, father. I don't care why you thought violence was an answer to whatever question. If you really thought I'd choose your side after everything you've done to me, to my friends and to Paris, you're sick!"
Now that HawkMoth is distracted by Adrien, Plagg sees the opportunity to help Ladybug. He flies towards Ladybug and places the ring on her finger.
"But-" Ladybug mouths.
"I know being in possession of both the Ladybug and the Cat miraculous is dangerous, but we need both to defeat HawkMoth and Adrien's not up for it yet. Master Fu told me that you're the best and most powerful miraculous holder he's ever seen, I know you can do this." Plagg says, HawkMoth now looks back at Ladybug and Plagg, but once he notices what's happening, it's too late.
"Plagg, Tikki, unify."
Her red ladybug suit gets cat ears and a tail. It's all themed in the colours black and red, although there aren't any polka dots anymore. The suit gives off a powerful aura, it's not something you can see, but everyone feels it.
"Give me your miraculous, or I'll take it myself." Ladybug threatens.
HawkMoth knows he can't defeat Ladybug on his own, so he starts running. She's about to run after him, when she notices that Adrien is unable to move. It's been a rough week for him and these last few minutes might have been too much for him.
"I'll get you out of here." Ladybug says, picking him up. She's sure the other heroes are able to take care of HawkMoth for a while, she just needs to get Adrien to safety and then she'll return to the fight.
She exits the hideout and then the Agreste Mansion, she makes her way to her own house. Paris' streets are all empty and everyone is obligated to stay inside. Ladybug enters through the front door to see her father and her mother watching the news at the TV.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I needed him to get away from the battle and I heard stories you are welcoming people. Can you please take care of him until I come back?" Ladybug says, she needed to think of an excuse that wouldn't cause her father to know her identity.
"Of course we will, we actually know this boy. He's in good hands here." Marinette's mom says, running up to Ladybug and Adrien, followed by her dad.
"Excuse me, Ladybug, but have you seen our daughter? She hasn't come home and I'm afraid something happened to her." Marinette's dad speaks.
"Don't worry, I saw a lot of people hiding in François Dupont Highschool on my way here, I'm sure your daughter is too." Ladybug comes up with a lie, Tom is relieved by this.
"Thanks, Ladybug. Go save Paris, we'll take care of him until you come back." Ladybug nods and leaves for the battle.
When she arrives, she notices the battle is far from over. The scene is crowded with akumatised villains, but Ladybug can't spot HawkMoth anywhere. She decides to join the fight and worry about HawkMoth later.
She and the other heroes manage to defeat at least 20 villains, but more keep showing up.
"This isn't working, we need to find HawkMoth." Ladybug tells the other heroes.
"Carapace, Rena Rouge, Queen Bee, come with me." She says. She has a plan, but needs all three of them to succeed.
"Oh so she's allowed into the 'inner circle' again?" Rena Rouge asks annoyed, pointing towards Queen Bee.
"I told you to set aside your personal issues, I need all of your powers to defeat HawkMoth. This is no time for complications." She says.
"Fine, but I'll keep an eye on her and when she gives a sign that she's gonna betray us again, I swear I'll-"
"Rena Rouge!" Ladybug speaks as hard as she can, her voice sounds as powerful as the voice of a leader. "You'll set your problems aside or I'll be taking your miraculous now. Is that clear?" Rena Rouge nods. "Good. We're going to his hideout, I suspect he's still hiding there. Follow me."
