28//Volpina

It's a complete chaos when the five heroes arrive on scene. A lot of people are running away from Volpina, who is busy creating illusions. Bunnyx leaves quickly to feed her kwami and joins the group a few minutes after that.

"They're just illusions, they can't hurt you." Ladybug says as she sees the worrying faces of Carapace and Rena Rouge.

"Yeah, we've fought her before. The illusion disappears as soon as something comes through them, like Ladybug's yo-yo or my stick." Chat says, extending his stick to make an illusion of a T-Rex that chases some scared citizens disappear.

"Everyone hide and lock yourself inside until we've defeated the villains!" Ladybug tells the citizens, everyone obeys and leaves to find a safe place.

"Oh there you are, it was about time you showed up. Now give me your miraculous or I'll make you." Volpina says.

"Never!" Ladybug and Chat shout in unison.

"Fine, I'll just have to take them from you." Volpina says, playing a melody on her flute and throwing a ball of light to make an illusion. A knight with a sword appears ready to attack Ladybug.

"Your power is illusion, we both know this is not gonna work." Ladybug says as she lets the knight come close. But — to her surprise — the knight hurts her when he cuts her with the sword.

"Ladybug!" Chat shouts, extending his stick to make the knight illusion disappear and to help his lady up.

"Did I forget to mention that I'm stronger than before, my illusions can cause you a lot of harm this time." Volpina laughs.

"Are you okay, m'lady?" Chat asks Ladybug, ignoring Volpina.

"I'm fine. My magic ladybugs will heal it after the fight." Chat nods and they join up with the group again.

"We need a plan. Volpina's illusions can hurt you, but they do disappear as soon as anything goes through it, so it's easy to defeat them. As long as we keep each other's backs, we-" Ladybug gets punched aside by Chat Noir while Carapace throws his shield to defeat a new illusion.

"Can't she take a break, it's annoying when we're trying to talk." Bunnyx complains annoyed, the others laugh a bit.

Ladybug wants to resume talking about the plan when Rena Rouge runs towards Volpina. "You. Copycat! Stop. Stealing. My. Powers!" She shouts, trying to attack her headfirst. Of course, it fails drastically and she gets knocked out by Volpina. She falls down from the Eiffel Tower, unconscious and unable to break her fall. Carapace runs towards her and catches her right before she hits the ground.

"Is she okay?" Ladybug asks, Carapace nods

"I think so, she's only unconscious but she's still breathing and it doesn't look like her body is damaged in any way."

"Good, bring her home and stay with her until she's conscious. I'll come fetch your miraculouses later." Ladybug orders, Carapace nods and leaves with Rena Rouge in his hands.

"So, it's just the three of us now. Any ideas m'lady?" Chat asks.

"We know her akuma is in her necklace again, but it's not possible to grab it when we face her head on. We need a way to distract her." Ladybug starts.

"Which one?" Bunnyx interrupts. Chat and Ladybug look at Volpina and see at least a thirty clones.

"First time we fought her, we could tell the real one from the fakes by blinding her. Only the real one reacts to the sudden light, illusions don't."

"I think we just need a little bit of luck to win this battle."

"You're right. Lucky charm!"

"A powder box? What am I supposed to do with this?"

"Maybe give her a make-over, she needs it." Chat jokes, which makes Ladybug giggle, but she stops as soon as she notices it. Ladybug opens the powder box and sees there's a mirror inside of it. Could it be this easy?

"I've got a plan. Bunnyx, I need you to take Chat Noir into your bureau and sneak him behind the real Volpina as soon as I blind her. You have to use your cataclysm to destroy her necklace, got it?" Chat and Bunnyx nod before leaving.

"Where did your friends go, are they too scared to fight me, I mean, us." The Volpinas grin, which annoys Ladybug massively. She couldn't stand her as Lila, but Volpina is way worse.

Ladybug reflects the light of the sun on the mirror and back to the illusions. It takes a lot of precision, but after trying at least ten different clones, she succeeds in finding the correct one. It doesn't take long until a portal opens behind her, Ladybug can see Chat sneaking up on her and touching her necklace with his right hand. In a matter of seconds, the necklace turns to dust and a black butterfly comes flying out. Ladybug jumps towards the akuma and she catches and purifies it. She then lands in between Chat and Bunnyx.

"Miraculous ladybug!" Ladybug shouts, throwing the powder box in the air. The magic ladybugs put Paris back to what it was and heals Ladybug's cut. Ladybug is sure that Rena is conscious too now, she has to visit her later today.

"Pound it." Ladybug says, ready to fist bump Chat Noir and Bunnyx, but when only Bunnyx fist touches hers, she knows something's off. She looks to her left, Chat was there just a second ago, but now he's gone.

"Looking for him? Try to take him from me." She hears a voice that can only belong to HawkMoth. She turns around to see him holding an unconscious Chat Noir. "Try to catch me, little bug, or you'll never see your dearest partner again."
