You sit at the dinner table by yourself eating some leftover chocolate cake and thinking about Hunter as you wait for him to facetime you. He sent you a text about two hours ago, telling you that he landed in Louisiana but other than that you haven't heard from him.

Your mom walks into the kitchen and sits down next to you. "Have you heard from Hunter lately?"

"Well...he sent me a text telling me that he landed in Louisiana, but other than that I haven't heard from him..." you reply. "Maybe he just got home and he's putting away all his new things!" She says. "Yeah that could be it..." you say.

You put your fork down and check your phone again for any new text messages or missed calls from Hunter.

"You must really miss him..." she says. "Yeah I do. Even though he just left a few hours ago," you say with a laugh. "I hope he can come back soon."

"Well...you can always plan to go out there and visit him..." she says.

You're about to respond, but then your phone rings. You look at your screen and see that it's Hunter calling. "IT'S HIM!"

You jump up and accidentally bang your knees on the bottom on the table. "Be careful!" Your mom yells. "I'm okay!" You say, pushing your chair back and jumping up, running upstairs to your room.

You close your door behind you and dive on your bed, answering his call. "BABE!"

"Cupcake! How are you?" He replies with a smile. He's wearing a tight blue t-shirt and his hair is wet. He looks like he's about to go to bed soon.

"I'm doing okay now! I was still kinda emotional after you left earlier today, but now I'm doing fine. I just miss you a lot," you say. "Well I miss you too babe. And you know that I'm going to be coming back soon. I just have to talk to my parents and save up some more money for the next trip," he says, running his hands through his wet, messed up hair.

"Speaking of your parents, how are they?" You ask. "They're doing really good. When they picked me up from the airport they were really happy to see me and they started asking me a million questions about how the trip went. And then when I told them that me and you were officially dating, they were really happy to hear that. They said it was about time that I asked you to be my girlfriend," he says with a laugh. "This must mean that your parents really like me!" You say with a smile. "Oh they LOVE you. They're always constantly asking about you. They want to meet you too so that's why we need to plan another visit to Nashville," he says.

"Or I could just come out there..." you say. His eyes grow wide and he gets the biggest grin on his face. "YOU WOULD DO THAT?"

"Of course I would!" You reply. "Aah you should come out here. We have Cajun food and music and..." he starts starting about his hometown and all the things they have down there and what he loves about it. You just sit there, smiling and listening to every word he says. You love the way his eyes light up when he talks about something he loves. "And so yeah I think you would love it down here!" He finishes.

"I think I would too!" You say with a smile. "It would be nice if you did. Then we can talk about random stuff until we fall alseep and then wake up in each others arms again," he says. "And I can mess with your hair again," you say with a laugh.

"It's already messed up! Do you see this?" He says, laughing and pointing to his hair. "I washed it when I came home so now it's all over the place."

"You still look good. You look like a wet adorable lost puppy..." you say with a smile. He laughs and you start to laugh too. What can you say? He has a very contagious laugh.

You stay on the phone facetiming Hunter for another two hours, talking about everything you didn't get the chance to talk about when he was here, and just cracking a few jokes. When it starts to get late, you know that you eventually need to go to bed, even though you really don't feel like going to sleep anytime soon.

"Hey beautiful," Hunter says. "Yeah?" You reply. "Go ahead and get your beauty sleep and I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay?" He says. You nod and give him a small smile. "I love you."

"I love you more," he replies. And with that, you end the call and start getting ready for bed.

You turn out your bedroom light and start getting comfortable in your bed, which is kinda hard to do now that Hunter isn't here with his arms wrapped around you. You lay in your bed and just try to close your eyes and get some sleep. You can already tell that the next few months are going to be difficult for you.
