You walk into the restaurant and find the table where your grandparents and family are sitting at.
Basically everybody is here. Your grandparents, your mom, your aunt, your uncle, a few of your cousins, and a bunch of other people.
"Happy Anniversary," you say, smiling and handing your grandparents an anniversary card.
You really didn't know what else to get them and you were in a rush to get here okay?
"Thank you," they both say, smiling and accepting your card.
You smile and sit down next to your mom, and everyone starts having conversation about random stuff. One minute they're talking about the anniversary, the next minute they're talking about something funny that happened who knows how long ago.
Hours pass and it's kinda hard for you to pay attention to what everyone has to say since you're still shocked about what happened with Hunter at the Bridgestone Arena. You can't stop thinking about him and that amazing kiss. You kinda wonder what's going on with him right now. Did he win the award?
You come out of your thoughts when you hear your cousin calling your name.
"Oh. Hey. I'm sorry I was just thinking about something. What did you say?" You say, looking at her.
"I was asking you how was your friend doing. What's his name again? Hunter?" She says. "Oh...yeah," you blush a little bit as you think about him. "He's doing fine. He's at the CMA's right now because he's nominated for Artist of The Year."
"Wow that's awesome! So are you guys just friends or are you going out or something? You two hang out a lot," she says, grinning.
"Oh my god. I mean..." you try to think of what you can say. You're like 100% sure that you and Hunter are going out now but you didn't get to talk to him about it, and you don't know if he wants you to tell everyone now or just wait a little while. "Let's just say that we're talking about it..."
You think that's a pretty good answer.
Before she can say anything, your phone rings. You grab your purse and find your phone. Hunter's calling you.
"Can I be excused for a second?" You ask, looking at your grandparents.
They nod, and you get up and walk to the bathroom, answering your phone.
"Hello?" You say. "Hey. I hope I'm not interrupting anything..." he says, his voice low. No you're fine. It's okay. What's going on?" You say. "Well...the show was great but I didn't get the award..." he says. "Aww Hunter..."
"Hey! It's okay. They gave it to Luke Bryan so it's alright. It's just an award, right?" He says softly.
"Yeah that's true but you really deserved it Hunt..." you say, tears forming in your eyes.
Hunter has been working his butt off this year, so he really deserves the award. He's always nominated for something, but he rarely wins. You just wish that people would realize how talented he is.
"Babe don't stress out about it. I'm fine! I just wanted to let you know what happened. Go enjoy your dinner with your grandparents and we'll talk later okay?" He says. "Okay," you say. "Love you," he says.
Those two words almost made you choke. Well, you're not eating or drinking anything but still. You're fangirling, alright?
"Wait what?" You ask. "I said I love you," he says. "Holy crap. I love you too Hunter," you say, smiling like an idiot.
"Okay," he chuckles a little bit. "I'll talk to you later..."
"Okay," you say, hanging up the phone.
You let out a little scream and try to get yourself together before you walk back to the table where everyone is sitting.
"Is everything okay?" Your grandma asks. "Yeah everything is fine. Hunter didn't get his award...but he's doing okay," you reply. "Do you want to go see him and make sure that he's really doing alright?" She asks. "Well I mean--I don't know. He said he was okay but..."
You want to stay and be here with your family, but you also want to make sure that Hunter's really doing okay. He said he was fine, but he still sounded a little sad when you talked to him.
"Haley it's okay. You should go see him!" She says. "Really?" You ask.
She smiles and nods.
"Oh my god thank you," you say, getting up and giving her and your grandpa a hug.
You say goodbye to everyone else and walk out of the restaurant.
