Chapter 16

We never celebrated our birthdays in party's and such, talagang bibisita kami sa puntod ng aming ina at doon magpapalipas ng oras. Wala kaming plano dahil nakasanayan na naming ganito ang set-up sa twuing kaarawan namin.

"Hi Serene, my lovely wife. It's our twin's birthday, and I wished you've been here for us. I hope you're resting well up there, hon. Your happiness is what matters to me the most especially our kids, of course. They have grown up really fast, and Blaire here already have a boyfriend!" Dad was talking casually while looking to the tomb of Mom.

"I will love your daughter and protect her in any cost, Sir." formally said of James beside me.

I chuckled on James' part. He sounded so serious that even my father and grandparents chuckled at him. His brows furrowed out of confusion and in the first time ever he faced me and pouted his lips.

"Definitely, I'm not your teacher, hijo. First and foremost you can call me Dad, Tito, or anything you pleased just don't call me Sir. It seems like I'm one hell old granny." Dad laughed and gave a pat on James' shoulders.

"Okay po, Si- I mean Tito." kamot ulong sabi ni James kay Dad.

"Come here, Claire." baling naman ni Dad kay Claire at sinenyasang lumapit rito. "Hon, this young lady standing beside me is following your footsteps, she will ba a great doctor like you. Serving with dominance in people needed a hand will be her duty and I know you will guide her through." sabi pa ni Dad kay Mom.

Lumipas ang mga araw at dating gawi ay maaga akong pumapasok sa eskwela habang si Andra ay nanatili pa rin sa aming mansion sa kanyang pagbubuntis. Hindi ko pa rin alam kung sino ang ama nito dahil alam kong masyado iyong confidential.

Papasok na ako sa school habang kasama ang iilan kong kaklase dahil sa gagawin naming project kay Prof. Ronna. Hindi ko rin alam kun bakit ako ang napili nilang gawing leader dahil wala naman akong karanasan maging leader sa mga ganito.

Napag-usapan rin namin na iyong ginawa kong contemporary plate ang gagawin namin sa project. I handed them my sketch at sila na raw bahala dahil plate ko na ang gagamitin sa project.

I bid goodbye and headed to my next class. I didn't know that in my next class I will sit beside Axel. I haven't seen him in days and I have noticed also that his facial hair is growing. I quietly sit beside him and wait for our teacher to come.

"Blaire, did you know where is Andra right now? I'm worried about her." Axel asked me softly and frustration were evident to his voice.

I don't know what to say. I promised Andra that I will never say where she is on everyone. But I believed Axel and Andra have something in their minds that I couldn't figure out. Something is odd between them.

"Alam ko, punta ka na lamang sa malapit na Starbucks dito sa University mamayang uwian." sabi ko at biglang gumaan ang ekspresyon niya pagkasabi ko noon.

Kinuha ko naman ang cellphone ko para magtipa ng mensahe sa aking kaibigan.

Ako:

Andra, punta ka sa Starbucks malapit dito sa University pagkatapos mong pumunta sa hospital. Kikitain kita doon.

Matapos ang ilang minuto ay naramdaman ko ang vibration ng aking cellphone senyales na may pumasok na mensahe sa akin.

Andra:

Okay, Blaire. 

"Sabi ni Andra, okay raw." sabi ko kay Axel kahit hindi ko sinabi na kasama ko si Axel mamaya. 

Tumango sioya sa akin at tumingin na sa harap kung saan nandoon na ang aming Prof. Kinakabahan man para mamaya ay nanatili akong tahimik sa klase. Hindi ko alam ang magiging reaksyon ni Andra sa pagdating mamaya ni Axel.
