Shattered Mind: Ahsoka Tano

Chapter 11

     Ahsoka scolded herself for almost letting her guard down in front of Anakin again. As much she wanted him to help her, some part of her mind just wouldn't let her do so. Unfortunately she listened to the voice most times.

Ahsoka entered the common area of the ship where a few clones were. They didn't need a lot of men for the mission so only Rex, Kix, Jesse, Fives, and Echo tagged along for the mission.

Ahsoka threw on her best smile and walked up to her friends.

" We are out of hyperspace and should be landing soon, so get ready." she instructed them.

" Right away Commander." Rex and everyone except Kix left.

Kix examined Ahsoka's posture. She was tense and even without being a Jedi he could tell that she was very anxious.

" Commander if you don't mind me asking, are you doing okay?" he questioned referring to her past injuries.

" Wha-oh that, yeah they're healing a lot better now."

Kix nodded not fully believing that she was fine. There was something else, and it was really bothering her.

" Did they do anything else after you visited me?" Kix pressed on hoping to get some answers.

He's getting too close, get out of there. A familiar voice heeded her.

" No. I haven't been to class since then...Kix we should really be going."

Kix sighed, he would have to tell General Skywalker that she didn't say anything other than what they knew.

" Yes sir."

   They landed in a nearby  forest where their ship would be out of sight.

The clones were forced to change into civilian clothes for the mission. Armor would be too noticeable.

" Alright men, we are here for a scouting mission only, so be subtle." Anakin reminded the group. " Now we're going to go in teams." he turned his attention to his padawan.

" Ahsoka, you'll take Rex and Fives. Echo, Jesse and Kix, you're with me. Ahsoka, just walk around the village and make sure everything is in place. I'll do the same but on the outskirts of town. Remember to regroup back here." Anakin finished the briefing.

" You heard Skyguy boys, lets go." Ahsoka smirked at her master. Even though she despised Shili, it did feel good to finally be away from the temple and everyone there besides a few exceptions.

Rex and Fives ran after the Togruta as she approached the edge of the woods. From above they could see the rather large village of Togrutan colonist going about their normal day.

Ahsoka climbed down the steep hill leading to a path into the village with Rex and Five close behind.

" You grew up here right Commander?" Fives asked.

Ahsoka was brought back to a memory of one of the worst days of her life, but she didn't let it get her down, at least not then.

" Yup, this was actually my village." she told him as they arrived at the village entrance.

" Where do we start sir?" Rex queried taking a look around.

Ahsoka thought for a second, " The capital would be our best bet. That's where most powerful leaders reside." 

They strolled down the street. She knew that Governor Roshti lived in the busier parts of town. He had told her after she had saved her people that she was always allowed to visit him.

" This way." she directed Rex and Fives down another street until they came to a large home. 

Ahsoka knocked on the door. Sure enough Governor Roshti greeted them.

" Padawan Ahsoka, what a nice surprise." he smiled.

" Governor." Ahsoka bowed out of respect. " I would like to discuss some important matters with you if that's alright."

" Yes, of course of course, do come in." he opened the door wider and welcomed them into his home.

" What brings you back to Shili young Ahsoka?" he asked once they were inside.

Ahsoka explained everything that the council had told her.

He froze at the mention of the separatist. The kind warm smile vanished from his face and was replaced with a cold expression.

" Is everything okay Governor?" she went up and placed a hand on his shoulder.

" I wish that it wouldn't happen again, but it did. They're here young one. They're listening I tell you." he said in low fearful whisper.

Just then there was a loud knock on the door. It sounded of metal against metal.

" They found you." Governor Roshti trembled.
