Ray's eyes meet mine and I quickly move my gaze away. Focusing on the people walking around on the pier as I lean against the counter my chin resting in my hand.
We haven't spoken to each other since this morning, it's probably been one of the absolute worst seven hours of my life. He keeps shooting me sad looks, I've been doing my best to keep a completely blank, numb face.
You could practically cut the awkward tension with a butter knife.
I just wanna go back to my Grandparents house, hide under those stupid covers for hours on end till I wither and die. But no those stupid covers are ocean blue and that would just remind me of Ray's annoying sad face.
With a sigh I look down at the cash register. My chipped nails hit the counter top with loud taps, it's the only sound filling the room. There hasn't been a customer in about ten minutes and I'm practically begging the universe to bring some form of distraction from this fucking unbearable atmosphere.
The sound of the bells attached to the shop door ring and my head flicks up, thank god.
A small smile forms on my lips when Suzy-May, Jessie, Yasmine and Liberty burst their way into the shop. All of them with excited looks on their faces.
"What're you guys doing here?" I can feel Ray's eyes on me from the open doorway leading to the back room but ignore it, concentrating on the group of girls making their way over to me.
"We've got Something important to tell you" Suzy-May and Yasmine rest on the opposite side of the counter, while Liberty and Jessie are inspecting the pick 'n' mix stand, I smirk when I see Them help themselves each to some gummy bears.
"Go on then" Shaking my head, I take in each of their outfits.
Suzy-May is wearing a cropped grey tank top with a pleated, pink mini skirt. Her hair tied up in the same rainbow scrunchie I saw it tied up in the day I met her.
Yasmine places an over priced, mini black Gucci backpack down on the counter and she's wearing a surprisingly cute brown button up plaid mini dress. With two pink clips secured on each side of her hair to keep it out of her face, by the looks of both their eyes I can tell they've just had their lashes done.
Liberty has her arms wrapped around Jessie and they're laughing their heads off at some inside joke. Liberty is wearing a cropped white cardigan top with a black rim matched with a pair of black jean shorts.
Jessie's face flushes as Liberty kisses her on the cheek before ruffling up her curly hair, She's wearing a tan thrasher shirt with olive green pants that are cuffed at the bottom and are secured by a black belt, on her feet are a pair of shiny doc martins with clouds painted on them.
I make a mental note to eventually ask her where she got those, they're really nice.
"You're coming with us to a party tonight" Suzy-May finishes and Yasmine grins at me.
My happiness is short lived when I realise that, I don't think I actually wanna go anywhere tonight. I just want to go back to my Grandparents house and call Sam.
I miss them so much.
"I don't know if I'm feeling up for it guys" I shrug, this answer immediately causes Liberty to snap her head over to me and come charging forward.
"You have to come Harry the last one was so fun with you" Liberty whines and I smile, she really has warmed up to me "You should come too Ray, you barely ever get out, come hangout with me" She turns to face Ray with a grin on her face who's still standing silently leaning against the doorframe.
