"It creeps me out how you're always so energetic this early in the morning" I look Ray up and down with a questioning gaze as I jump inside his truck, who just grins wider at me while turning the volume dial up on the radio.

"Can't help that I'm a morning person Harry, besides you know you love it" I groan before leaning my head out the window that was already opened for me when I got in.

"I would love being able to sleep in till the afternoon everyday again" I mumble not loud enough for Ray to hear over his country music.

We spend the early morning surfing as usual, I have to say I was more than happy when Ray texted me saying it was going to be just us two. Something about the only noises I hear almost first thing in the morning being the waves and Ray's laughter makes me excited to get up and dressed.

The day passed in a blink. I really am starting to get used to how everything works in the shop, Ray even trusted me to take care of things by myself for two hours while he went to go pick up new stock. I'd never even think of saying it out loud, but I felt kinda proud of myself not screwing it up.

And before I knew it, It was already seven in the evening. Ray was locking up and I was getting ready for him to drive me home.

Wiping my hands down on my jean shorts I lean against the side of the shop. It had become a sort of tradition for me to lean against the glass while Ray locked up, and now it was just what I did without a second thought.

"Fi and Lexi told me to tell you that the next time we go the mall you have to come too" Ray tells me as we walk towards his truck.

"And why's that?" I raise my brows even though I know I'd accept in the end, despite annoying and possibly evil those two kids were fun to hang out with. Especially when we ganged up on Ray.

"Because apparently according to them and I quote 'I'm a stupid boy who has no style and you're a pretty girl with cool hair'" I burst out laughing as we reach the truck, getting straight inside knowing Ray never bothered to lock the thing.

"They do have a valid point, you are a stupid boy who has no style" Ray leans on his elbows on the open truck window rolling his eyes at me before flicking me on the forehead and walking round to the drivers side, I laugh "You're only annoyed cause it's the truth" I shrug.

He gets inside the truck and starts up the engine "Well you are a pretty girl with cool hair so their points can't be that far off" My cheeks burn and he turns on the music.

"Hey Ray" I turn to face him as a foreign thought enters my mind.

"Hmm?" he asks glancing quickly at me then back at the road.

"Could you take me to the church instead tonight, there's something I wanna check out" I look out the window as to not meet his questioning glance I just know is coming next. I'm not ready to answer questions I don't even have the answers to myself yet.

Like, 'why do you want to go to the church Harry?'. Because in all honesty, I don't know. I had been thinking about the pamphlet my grandma had given me almost a week ago now for the past few days, and well I might as well go see what it was all about.

Plus weren't these things supposed to have free coffee?

"The church? Sure" Well that was easier than expected "But that's the other way so hold on tight"

Not giving me a chance to hold onto anything Ray quickly pulls a U turn and we start speeding in the other direction. Well speeding as fast as we could in this hunk of junk, Sorry Eddie but it's the truth.

"Jesus fucking christ" I grab onto the window frame trying to balance myself after the turn.

"See now something like that wouldn't happen if you used that thing right there" Ray doesn't even have to look back at me to know I'm not using the seatbelt.
