Chapter 20

Narrator's Pov

How can you say that love is true? When it is sweet? When it brings you happiness? When it makes your life easy? Paano kapag masakit na? Paano kapag nahihirapan ka na? Love pa rin ba?

Eva and Marcos is trying their best to keep their relationship on good terms. Marcos broke up with Sarah without realizing how crazily in love the woman is to him. Eva fought her demons so hard caused by the first man she ever loved. They devoted theirselves into keeping the love they feel for each other alive and burning.

Despite all of Sarah's effort, Marcos maintained his distance. Ipinaramdam nya talaga kay Sarah na wala na syang interes para dito. Sarah even attempted suicide and was brought to the hospital pero wala pa ring naging epekto 'yon kay Marcos. Pinanindigan nyang ayaw na nya kay Sarah.

Pero totoo ba 'yong sinasabing "doomed from the start?". 'Yong umpisa palang nakadestined nang magfail? Na kahit anong gawin mo walang kapupuntahan kasi hindi nakatadhana?

Jessica's Pov

Sobrang excited ko kasi pumayag si Marcos na makipagkita sa'kin. Kaya naman sinigurado kong magiging maganda ako sa paningin nya. I put on my sexiest dress and make up. I want to impress him.

"Ma'am Jessica dito po ba kayo maghahapunan?" tanong sa'kin ni Manang Leny.

"Hindi Manang. Baka gabihin ako sa pag-uwi kaya huwag ka ng magluto, okay?" Umalis ako ng bahay ng may ngiti sa mga labi.

Napagkasunduan naming magdinner sa isang fine dining restaurant. The place is cozy and the ambiance is very enticing. Perfect ang lugar na 'to para sa aming dalawa. I arrived ten minutes earlier than our agreed time kaya minabuti kong mag-order na ng pagkain para sa aming dalawa.

"Hi! Kanina ka pa ba?" He looked so apologetic dahil nalate sya ng dating ng ilang minuto.

"Hindi naman. Halos kakarating ko lang din. Maupo ka na. Nag-order na nga pala ako ng pagkain natin." I informed him while smiling.

"Yeah? Thanks. You look so beautiful." I was pleased by his complinents and the way he looks at me.

"You look handsome too." I replied.

Maraming kaming napagkwentuhan dahil matagal kaming hindi nagkita. I told him about  my life in Spain and he told me about his career, his life in america and how he met Eva.

According to him, he helped that Eva to escape an abusive relationship with her former husband. Naawa sya asawa ng kanyang dating kaibigan kaya tinulungan nya itong makawala at magsimula ng panibagong buhay.

"Ihahatid na kita sa bahay mo." He offered.

"Sure." I responded without hesitation.

Pagdating namin sa bahay inaya ko syang uminom ng champagne to continue our chat. Hindi naman sya tumanggi. Napasarap ang inuman at kwentuhan namin kaya hindi namin napansin ang oras.

"I—i think i have to go." He slurred. Lasing na sya.

"You can't go home, not on your current state. Baka mapano ka pa. Let's go to my room do you can rest for awhile."

Inalalayan ko sya paakyat sa kwarto ko hanggang sa maihiga ko sya sa kama. Dahil sa sobrang hilo nya nahila nya ko kasabay ng pagbagsak nya sa kama. Then he started kissing me like there's no tomorrow.
