(Bailey POV)

I led Derek out of the room. "I want to get her for a CT now, while she's sleeping. I think it may show us what we're dealing with." I said. He nodded and we went into the room. An orderly grabbed one side of the gurney and Derek and I grabbed the other. We pushed her out of the room and down to CT. I was Derek stroke his wife's hair out of her face. This man was very worried. "Okay, you can either go in with her or come with my in the viewing room." I said as we arrived at CT. "I'll stay with her." He responded. I nodded. "Let's get her onto the bed ready 1,2,3." I said as lifted her up onto the CT bed. Derek grabbed a vest and I went to the viewing room.

"Send her in." Derek said. I nodded and pressed the button to put her in. She was drawn back into the machine. Derek anxiously held her hand. After about 10 minutes pass, the CT reels Meredith back out. Derek let's go of Merediths hand and comes into the viewing room. "Are they up?" He asked. "In a minute." The tech guy said. I nodded. Finally, her scans showed up and I read them throughly. "Crap. She has pulmonary edema. We need to get her started on a diuretic and antianginal stat. Let's also start her on 50% oxygen." I ordered. We brought Meredith back to her room and started her on medication and put an oxygen mask on her face at 50%. "Hopefully this will help her chest." I say. Derek just nods.

(Der POV)

I hate this. She's sick, and she could die but I feel like we're not doing anything to fix it. I go out of Merediths room and into a supply closet. I feel like Meredith a few days ago. I throw supplies everywhere. I push carts over. My wife is dangerously sick from a virus that has no cure. "Shit!" I yell as I kick a few more carts down. By the time I'm done my episode I'm panting. I brace myself on the wall and compose myself. I walk out of the room like nothing happened and head towards Merediths room. I walk into her room, and I'm met with big green eyes. She looks incredibly pale and sick, but she's beautiful. "Hi." I said. "Hi." She said as she replaced the oxygen mask for a nasal cannula. "How are you feeling?" I ask. "Okay. My chest doesn't hurt too bad anymore." She said. I smiled. "Can you lay with me?" She asked in a small voice. I smiled again. "Of course." I replied. I gently got into the bed, wary of her iv. I wrap my arms around her and we fall asleep.

I wake up with a small body in my arms. A small, very hot body. I put my hand on Merediths face and I immediately know she had a fever. I take out my pager and page Bailey. She comes into the room seconds later. "She defiantly has a fever." I say worriedly. Bailey gets a thermometer and sticks it in merediths mouth. 'Beep.' The thermometer shrieked. "Damn. 105.3. That's way too high. We have to get this down now." She says. "Mm Der?" I heard Mer sleepily ask. "I'm right here Mer. Your okay." I said. "I don't feel good." She said, effectively breaking my heart. "I know Mer. I'm sorry." I replied back. "No, Derek I-." She started before her eyes rolled back into her head and she started jerking side to side uncontrollably. I quickly put Meredith on one side so she wouldn't choke on her tongue. "Okay she's seizing! This is probably just fever induced. I need cooling blankets and ice packs in here stat!" Bailey said. Meredith soon calmed down and her body went limp. "Here's the cooling blanket and ice packs you asked for." A nurse said as handed Bailey the supplies. "Thank you." She responded. Bailey put the ice packs under her legs and under her back and placed the cooling blanket over her. "Once she gets back down to around 100, she should be okay to take these off. I nodded, still coming to terms with the fact that my wife, my sick wife, just had a seizure.

(Bailey POV)

Meredith will have to stay in the hospital for at least two weeks, if she's feeling better. Derek is a wreck. I saw him March into a supply closet earlier and heard him push and throw things. He's worried sick about her, and I can't do much to ease his mind. We can't do much for her right now. We just have to keep her heart beating.
