Chapter 1

The year is 1946. A year has passed since the devastating second World War, although it has been a year since the war has ended. Some people were still celebrating from America's victory.

Because of that it had been absolutely annoying for Yeji, who's an angel disguised as a human named Lucy, she had been around since the beginning of time and so far living amongst humans for the first time weren't as horrible as she thought.

Well, the whole war thing isn't really what she envisioned of witnessing for her first time living amongst humans, but it's humans that are being mentioned here. They start major conflicts for sometimes even the smallest reasons that can be resolved.

But apart from the horrifying war that ensued. Yeji is here finally enjoying post war human life. Being an angel isn't particularly the easiest thing to do. This world is full of seducers, and tempters, sinners, and the worst is evil.

For all she knows, the devil is probably roaming amongst them, and it's her job to protect humans as much as possible without exposing her divinity.

But, saying that the devil is roaming with them is old fashioned. Like the whole snake thing isn't really gonna work anymore. Eve may have been fooled, but now— although it could still be working, humans in this times are already fools.

Can't really fool someone who's already a fool right?

Either way, the devil might be just chilling down on the pits of hell. See as humans are already doing his job for him.

Which is why Yeji was sent down on Earth to keep check on humanity. Tough luck as by the time she went down from the silver city, the whole world was at war.

So much for getting humans to stop mushing each other to pulp.

Yeji looked up as she eyed the towering building around New York. Seeing this buildings are fascinating to her, sure the silver city is bright and for most of it better than Earth, still she can't help but be fascinated that such puny beings have the capability of creating such incredible and breath taking things.

"If you keep looking around like that you'll get lost Lucy," a man spoke right beside Yeji.

Yeji then looked beside her and smirked at the man. "Look who's talkin' now, last time I remembered Jason, you got lost here before despite being a resident for over a decade."

"Yeah, but you're new here. Who knows what'll happen to you if you get lost here," Jason uttered, as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Yeah, who knows," Yeji then continued walking, but this time she stayed behind Jason.

Sure she's an angel and she can just use her wings to fly and search for Jason. That isn't particularly the best thing to do, see as if she flies she'll be completely exposed to people.

Yeji then kept on following Jason from behind. Yeji couldn't help but sigh as she continued on walking following the man in front of her. Who is Jason Thomas, a twenty-five year old man who lived just a couple of blocks away from them at an apartment. He wasn't that wealthy in terms of finances, but he never faltered.

Jason served in the war starting from the year 1943. Where he was deployed in Sicily, it was then when he got injured, getting shot in the leg.

Because of that he was pulled out of the war for months. Where then he was redeployed to be part of the Normandy landings, which ended up being known as the D-Day landings in June 6, 1944.

He served for months, liberating France. Until his army days was put on a halt, after he saved a fellow soldier from a german frag grenade. Kicking it just in a knick of time, which then exploded mid air. With its impact sending a huge shockwave to his leg, damaging it temporarily.
