Chapter 5

Archangel Michael stood quietly and still, overlooking down Earth from the kingdom of Heaven. He felt unsettled from the sudden surge of unpleasant pressure weighting down on him, as if an enormous boulder is placed on his shoulder.

He knows something is up. There's only one reason why this is happening and he surely knows the reason on why all this pressure he's feeling is occuring.

A sound of footsteps then fades into the distance, slowly loudening as it got closer. Michael looked beside him and noticed his apprentice, standing next to him. Offering him company.

Michael glanced momentarily to Hyunjin, then averted his gaze back to where he was looking. Hyunjin didn't ask any questions, he knows his master is in deep thought right now. But one thing that he noticed is the troubled look on Michael's face. His eyebrows kept furrowing from time to time, he kept crossing his arms and tapping his feet.

Hyunjin knows he needs to ask his master and maybe even offer a helping hand on what's troubling him. "Is something bothering you master?" Michael looked down onto Hyunjin and cleared his throat.

"Hyunjin, I feel something, a huge and dark unsettling pressure being place onto my shoulders."

Hyunjin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What is it master? Maybe I can help."

"Hyunjin... The gates of Hell has opened and I fear that a catastrophic event might ensue down on Earth."

Hyunjin gulped, as he widened his eyes. He can't react properly to what his master had just said. He soon felt his hands tremble, with his legs soon feeling wobbly.

The mere mention of Hell, stroke fear onto Hyunjin. He knows very well that his skills came to be and had been developed for solely one reason. That is to be the successor of the defender of Heaven. What he expected is that the day that he'd be the new defender, he'd be years older than what he's current age is.

He didn't expect it to come so soon.

"B-but who w-would be the r-reason of it opening?" Hyunjin stumbled through his words, a strong surge of fear slowly slithering around his neck. Suffocating him.

"I sense fear in you Hyunjin," Michael said, following it with a smile as he held onto Hyunjin's shoulder. "Fear not, Father is always with us. Do not fear the devil for that what he wants you to feel, do not fall onto one of his schemes."

Michael's word calmed Hyunjin down. He knows better than to believe to his own master.

Way before he was created a huge war broke out in Heaven. A total rebellion from Lucifer and his followers, a battle of angels against angels. One side was Michael's and the other is his brother's, Lucifer.

The battle raged on and exhausted all angels from both sides. But not Michael, standing his ground against his brother Lucifer, who had turned into a dragon. The battle caused absolute devastation, filled with inferno and gore from the battle.

The battle was beyond the powers of any other angels, that the other Archangel's stood still and watch as Heavens strongest angel, went up and clashed against the most perfect angel.

Despite the transformation of Lucifer. Michael did not falter not even once with his battle with the most perfect angel. Entrusting his own body to God and believing that he'd never fall as long as God is with him.

A long grueling battle. But for how destructive it started, it ended quick. As Michael became the victor. Defeating his own brother and banishing him down to the pits of Hell, along with his fallen followers.

"Yeji is the reason why the gates of Hell have opened," Michael paused, looking at Hyunjin once again. "She has turned into a devil, and with a devil running loose on Earth. My brother has started his plans in using her as the bridge for another one of his schemes."
